Hey, does anyone know of any good Irish/Celtic folk songs or bands? Catchy drinking songs, folk music, Irish dance music, and all that jazz... er, you know.
I'm almost 50% Irish, other than some Cherokee, and a little German, I'm almost Irish through and true (but I look and act Irish, freckled skin, red hair, short temper, and tough). And I figure it's time for me to get in touch with the land of my ancestors And Irish songs make me feel great (who doesn't feel great after listening to those kinds of songs?), brings me back to ye old St. Patricks celebrations I went to when I was a kid.
So yeah, just a short list of songs, or bands would be great.

- The Young Dubliners (Irish rock)
- The Dubliners (Traditional, you've got some drinking songs here)
- The Clancy Brothers (Traditional, as well as some drinking songs)
- The Irish Rovers
- The Irish Experience (It's a pleasant combo of rock and traditional)

Nickel Creek. Well, I don't think they classify themselves as Irish/Celtic AT ALL, but their music really reminds me of the Irish style. =)

If you order a "Drink" in Ireland it's automatically alcoholic. Everything else is a "Beverage"
