I have a friend who was born in the ROI, although his Mum's English, and he has part of an Irish accent, though not fully. I think I'm 1/16 Irish, though I'm not sure whether it's NI or ROI, and I only overheard my Nana saying her Grandad was Irish.
hi guys! I missed ya'll. I have just been so busy!
so at a recent youth conference I was at a few weeks ago in the LA area, our speakers were Irish! they were a couple in their late 20s and they were so entertaining and amazing! and we kinda picked up on their accents, haha saying "oh yes, I'm a wee bit tired" and my friend Zack liked to tease me by saying I was "wee little lady" since I'm not quite 5'4 and he's over 6'
and... they taught us some Irish phrases!!! haha "you're sucking diesel" means you're doing awesome or something like that..."flip me" means You're Kidding! or No Way! and there were a few others but I can't really recall them to mind at this moment. but they were quite unusual for the American society haha.
