don't worry. i know how you feel. but trust in andrew adamson. he's a narnia fan, he won't go too far. once again, i know how you feel. but think about what i just said
GAH! That would be horrid! Are you sure? I mean, they're just kids. Caspian is supposed to be thirteen. It doesn't have any grounding in the books at all.
*hopes it is all a bad dream*
(I am a real stickler when it comes to accurately representing the books.)
I don't know about you, but I am nervous that they are going to mess this movie up! There are so many things they could do wrong! (I am a real stickler when it comes to accurately representing the books.) I know that thing about a Caspian/Susan relationship was supposed to be a joke, but they could conceivably add something inappropriate along those lines! I was just thinking about Faramir in LotR, that's why I asked this. What do you think?
OK, cool, because I am not worried about global warming at all, and neither would Jack Lewis be.
I am worried about the grown man they have cast as Caspian who could only have been 15 or 16 at the eldest, 17, right? He's supposed to be about Peter's age, and they have cast someone 6 years older than William. This opens up all kinds of possibilities to changing the story, including an attraction between him and Susan which would be very far from the spirit of the books, even if it is just an attraction.
Hey, don't worry.. you're not the only one worried here. There are two factors that make me upset if I think about it enough.
A while back, I put up quite a fuss about Ben Barnes being 25.. I mean, 25 for cryin' out loud! I don't mind if he's William Moseley's age because they can work it out.. but 25 is pushing it a little. I could understand how they want him to be old enough for VotDT, but still... couldn't he have been 17 or 18? It would've worked easier than a 25 year old trying to play some young, insecure teenager. And since he's 25, they have to change Caspian's age to what- 20? I'm sorry, but I just can't see that, especially since Caspian had a nurse who he reunited with later in the book.
And, I still have something to say: The only reason why the casting crew was blown away when Ben Barnes auditioned was because he had many more years of experience.
I still say they should have gone with a younger actor. I mean, even if the guy was a year younger than Anna Popplewell it would've been ok.. Because it would've been acting, and it's not like they would've kissed each other!
And the Susan/Caspian thing.. I shudder at that. It's just wrong, you know what I'm saying? Apparently, both Andrew Adamson and Douglas Gresham confirmed there will be a little "thing" between Caspian and Susan. Normally, a little romance never hurt a movie, but if they mess this one up, I'm going to be very unhappy. Very unhappy.
The Caspian and Susan relationship is going to be in the movie. Andrew Adamson said that it was Susan's last time in Narnia, so by doing that it'd make it even more sadder because they don't want to leave each other. And then you could say why Susan stops believing in Narnia. Because she was so heartbroken. I don't really like the idea myself, but it will be very emotional.
In the book, it seemed Caspian had more of an awed respect for Susan, instead of the *gags* hottness factor, like Inky stated. How old is Anna, anyway? If Caspian is going to be in his 20's and she is still a teenager, the romance thing would be slightly weird. What also disturbs me is, she is a revered queen from Caspian's ancient history ... I somehow doubt he would think of her as a hot babe! That would be as if Martha Washington turned up here in the USA, and some guy started scheming on her!
Caspian/Susan relationship/?!?! NO way!!! I was nervous about the movie, but now I'm really nervous. Where did you hear this about Caspian and Susan. They better not or I'll sew!!!!!
