*Groans* NRRRGGG!!That seems wrong for some reason or another. But then again, if they can convince the audience they're 14 year olds then that makes 'em even better actors. :D

I don't think they're convincing anybody...either the ones who have read the books and know have accepted it :p or the ones who just go to see the movie don't know that that isn't how old they are supposed to be
But you have to admit... you can't really see anyone else playing Susan or Peter, can ya?

They did a very good job and offhand I can't think of any known actors, but I could see them being played by someone else w/o getting irritated @ it :D

lol
so just a different picture in your head? I understand that. that's how I am with Harry Potter. no matter what, when I read the series, I still have my own versions of them in my head. Not the actors. I suppose that's because I've been reading HP wayyyy before the movies though. I only read Narnia for the first time about a month before I saw it in December.

I read the Chronicles of Narnia in about October of last year, and got lotsa images in my head of it. Not so with Lord of the Rings, I saw the movies(xcept Return of the King) before I read the books. In late 03 while I was awaiting the release of RotK I read the Hobbit n' then RotK 'cause I was impatient... :D So I guess I imagined the characters and places to be like the movies...

exactly, so your idea of the book was shaped by your perception of the movie. I guess because I'd only gone throught the chronicles once before seeing LWW, it just didn't sink in and so the actors made an imprint on my brain.

Are you guys sure about this character age thing? Because I have a new book that analyzes everything about the ages and times and stuff of LWW, Prince Caspian and all the other Narnia characters, as well as a time frame of the difference in time between Narnia and our world. Peter seemed to be 18, not 14, in the story.

Honestly, IM, I never trust those books, they lie like crazy...I'm preety sure that Peter was younger, but I always imagined him at the age of 16, so WM was a preety good choice for the movie (in my opinion that is) except Peter has always, and will always, have brown hair for me. (I've known the stories for forever)

As to Knightly playing Aravis, I've a few problems with that:
1). Aravis should be darker, more 'ethnic' looking, as IM said.
2). There are days that I like Knightly's acting, and days that I just think 'What is wrong with this chicks acting?' For some reason I have an on again off again liking of her acting, so if she played in HHB and it was one of those days when I disliked her acting that I went to see it, it would totally ruin the movie for me, and I couldn't even appreciate it for what it was worth.(first impressions tend to stick with me)
3). I really really REALLY do not want known actors in the movie, (I know that Jadis and Aslan were played by known actors, but oddly that didn't sink into my head at first, if Knightly played in it...I would just go craaazy)

Really? I've got one where it says Peter is 13, Susan is 12, Edmund is 9/10, and Lucy is between 8 and 9 in LWW.

Also, a timeline I found on thelionscall.com has it that Peter was born in 1927, and they stayed at Professor Kirke's house and got into the wardrobe in 1940, making him 13.

Even if Keira was young enough, I doubt I'd want her to play the role anyways.

I have only read a few chapters of horse and his boy, and when I think of Aravis' character, Keira Knightley fits perfect. They can make her look younger also. They do that alot by taking early twenty year olds and making them 14, 15, or 16 year olds.

I'm joining the bandwagon here: Keira's far too old for the part. And besides, I have this vision of Elizabeth Bennett in my head. Far too mature for the character of Aravis, or so I think personally. I never saw Aravis as being entirely mature (even though she was always rather serious, a reflection of her upbringing). She always appeared very sassy, and somewhat condescending, though later we see the development of her character throughout HHB, and a very happy ending of course. :)

Well, I guess we'll find out when the film comes out :)

Anyway, im sure Kiera Knightly and Johnny Depp are too busy with other films like Pirates of the Caribbean... and other films

NO WAY.

She's too old. And I don't think she'd look anything like Aravis, no matter what wonders make-up can do. Plus, it should be me =P (That's what I voted :D)
