IC:
Dirk saw that she had spotted him and was urging her horse faster.
'Time to show her she can't outride a hunter of the realm,' he thought with a smirk and leaned forward on Alfonso, urging him forward. He was starting to gain up on Bella.

"Come on Eira! Faster!" she cried.

IC:
Suddenly losing speed, Alfonso was stopped by Prince Dirk as he saw Bella's horse gain a large amount of ground.
"It's okay, Alfonso. I won't pressure you, mate," stated Dirk, patting Alfonso on his neck. "No normal horse could run that fast."
Having given up, Prince Dirk went back to the castle at an easy pace.

ic: Bella heard the horse's running slow and glanced behind her. Alfonso had slowed considerably. She sighed and pulled Eira to a slower pace.

She could see no-one following her.
She observed her surroundings. She saw a river, but it looked dried up. Her father had said something about that. It led into a dark-looking forest.

ic: Bella shuddered, that forest didn't look too inviting.
Nevertheless, she urged Eira into the dark wood, looking around for any sign of life.

IC:
There was only the sounds of Nature. Despite the gloomy look of the woods, on the inside it was not all that bad.
Bella saw a small hut made of sticks in a clearing. A sign stated : "BEWARE"

Bella dimounted from Eira, letting the reigns drop to the ground. The horse merely stood, not moving.
Bella slowly passed the sign, looking for any signs of traps or suprises.
"Excuse me?" she called to the hut, still a few feet away.

A shriek was heard and then silence.
Suddenly, in a puff of red smoke, the "painted man", the jester, appeared in front of Bella. He still wore his mask and his jester suit, as if it was infused with his being.

OOC: Bella was told she had a month to live by a jester, the king has become half mad, Bella has gone to look for the "painted man" who actually is the jester and has found him in the woods. Oh, and King Herod had killed his first wife, that as yet, is unclear why.

The Jester grinned from his grin mask at Bella. He took out a knife and etched a tear on his mask then put his knife away and acted as if he was crying then shrugged as if asking why.
