Mafia 27: Subterfuge at Sea

For some reason I thought we had a tie...

(sorry if they're a bit stale. I haven't had cause to bake more until now...) :(

As the rest of the ship settled into uneasy sleep, one of the Mafia slipped into the hold, where they had a secret stash of less-than-pleasant luggage. Selecting a small jar, they gave a vicious grin and crept back up to the deck.

Elsesta had settled into a pile of shredded sails, which made a surprisingly comfortable bed. Despite the threat of the Mafia, she was tired enough that she managed to fall asleep.

The Mafia crouched near Elsesta, and, moving silently, unscrewed the lid of the jar and dumped a tiny, blue, fuzzy spider on Elsesta's bed before standing and backing away.

Luckily for Elsesta, her feet were very ticklish. When the fuzzy spider started up the sole of her foot, she started awake with a yelp, sat up quickly, and swiped at her foot. The blue spider landed on the white sheets. Seeing it, Elsesta screamed. She snatched up one of the shoes she had slipped off and smashed the spider.

The scream brought the whole tense group to the deck once again. Elsesta pointed a trembling finger to the blue smear on the sail. "It was a spider," she said.

"A poisonous one, most likely," Lava spoke up. "That is definitely not native to this area. The Mafia probably brought it on the ship."

Elsesta's eyes got even wider than they had been at that thought. "You mean... They tried to kill me?"

"Looks like it."

It is now Day! You have until about 3:00 on Sunday to vote!

Unbelievable! The angel saved the right person twice in a row!

...But it makes me wonder if the angel is, in any way, in league with the mafia...

 Gah!!!

...

Gah!!

o_O

I'm so grossed out I have very little emotion left even to congratulate Elsesta on her wonderful recovery.

If you think spiders are scary, then I strongly recommend that you read "The Curse of the Spider King", by Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper. :D Well, I recommend it whether you're scared of spiders or not.

Actually for a long time I denied being scared of spiders but I'll admit they're nasty. You should watch the Doctor Who episode Planet of the Spiders.

Unfortunately, as much as this pains me, the kills (or attempted kills) have the calculated efficiency of an expert and as I am most certainly not Mafia, that leads me to one of two people. Gondorgirl, you are my prime suspect, I am sorry.

Right now I'm inclined to think loverble. She's been involved in these games for about as long as Lava has--not exactly an innocent.

I have been playing with both of them for a while, it is not loverble's style, if loverble is mafia, she is not the ring leader.

Intriguingly enough, I feel like that's the first time I've been voted for in games, I feel honored that I've been acting so suspicious, I try. XD But I suppose I do remember the other game where people kept suspecting me because I was doing this whole "act like I'm evil" thing. I really need to cut that out.

This game is turning out to be incredible. :D Congrats, Elsesta.

Oh my, I just realized they tried to kill me, naughty mafia.
Actually I read Glen's post and wondered what I had done, paged back and saw it wasn't what I had done.

Awesome Angel! Thank You!
