kevin, i think that the green boxes alert you when you have recieved new reputation. if you go to your user control pannel and click on the link from the thread, you are redirected there but your green box will turn back to grey. (at least, this is what seems to happen). As in the case with Lucy who has three green boxes, i wonder if she has never touched them so that they have all remained green and, based on the number of reputation points she has, she has gotten more green boxes trying to alert her that she has recieved reputation.
then there is tg who has like a million rep boxes. i highly doubt his count, he cheated.
my theory could be totally wrong though...:cool:

No, your theory is 100% right. *high five*

The green boxes show you have an un-read reputation message (or, in some cases, many unread reputation messages). Those who have grey boxes don't have a new reputation, yet.

Speaking of which, you have a new reputation. :p

So once you read your reputation the green box disappears?
In my Latest Reputation Received box I have two green boxes, how do I read those?
 
I actually have a different theory.

My theory is that when you have no reputation, your box is grey. When you start receiving reputation, your box stays grey until you've received 3, then it turns green. When you get boxes after that point (the point at which it turns green) they show up in your 'latest reputation' box as green boxes, since you received them when your box was green.

I've tried reading my reputations, clicking on the thread and all, and the green boxes still stay green.
 
ok, but my reputations that show up in my user cp (the newest ones)

they are:

black
green
green
black
black

...

according to your theory, lauren, shouldnt they all be black or all be green?

(just feeling argumentitive)

Does black mean you got a negative comment? (I don't know why you would get one though:))

I got my first green box on the second rep and after that I got two grays and then a green again. :confused:
My boxes still stay green also when I click on them, though.

Another question....
What about the points? Across from "Latest Reputation Received" it has amount of points in total. What is it for?

I think you get two points per good reputation. But I don't really know why...This is a very confusing issue.:confused:
 
All I can say about Reputation points is to not worry about them. They are just a fun little tool for people to tell you that you are a cool member.

As for the referals, maybe someone logged onto the forum that you know, and only posted 1 or 2 times, hence why you don't know who they are. As long as they put you down as their referal, you get the point. I myself have 4 referals, and I have no idea where they came from.
