Mod Q&A Thread II

Maybe they started counting posts in The Land of the Duffers?
Not that I'm complaining!:p:D

If we started counting posts in the Land of the Duffers, I would have more posts than tg WITHOUT cheating.:D

There may have been a thread or two you've posted in that was previously in an uncounted area and was moved to a counted area, acusing those posts to be added to your count.

Or the post count troll has been messing with your posts.

Both are logical conclusions.

Wait, Do they start counting once a thread archived? Because then the posts in the Land of the Duffers would count...

Hmm...that could be, but I'm not sure they count even after being moved to the library. Then again, they just might...I'll have to check into that.

But the Post Count Troll is a close second.

Yeah, he's a trouble maker. He likes to steal posts from one person or place and give them to another. Kind of like a misguided, troll version of Robin hood. I think he's working for tg...it would explain his astronomical amount of posts.
Yeah, they're probably in league...tg bans anyone who tries to fight the Troll, & the troll gives him posts...:p

They do count in the Archives. When they first started archiving old threads, my post count went up by 2,000 in about a week.

What I'd like to see is a post count system that's completely separate from the actual number of posts that you have in the forum's system. When you make a post in an area that counts, it adds 1 to your post count, and the archiving/deleting/whatever of that post doesn't change your post count. I don't know if that's possible with the vB forum system, however.

That sounds like a good idea...

We can fix the post count with archiving. It involves adding a new forum, which we are discussing.

As far as I know, we cannot control declining post count numbers when a thread is deleted

I have another Q:
Is there any way to know who has you on their buddy list?

The short answer is no, and I do not believe there is an option on vBulliton (our provider) to allow this.

Will animated avatars ever be allowed again?

Since I left my crystal ball at home, I can't say no, but I can say it is unlikely since animated avis take up a lot of server space.

 liar! you didn't leave your crystal ball at home! you abandoned it, so one evening it knocked on my door and i took it in because i'm a good person (occasionally)!

*mutters* these egoistic servers... want all the space to themselves...
