My First Fan-Fic

I am really glad that you liked it, Papa Joe! Yes, Emily has lost more than just her father and Tessa. She also lost Ryan and David, though I am not revealing who they are just yet.

After much struggling and trying not to make to much noise, Emily finally made it back onto the branch. Then, about two minutes later, the wolves left, leaving the poor fox lying on the ground in the snow. Then began the long and time consuming process of climbing down. They all made it down without any further mishap.
Once on the ground, they made a small fire and Mrs. Beaver patched up the fox as best as she could.
Then, the fox stood up and said, "Thank you for your kindness, but I must go now."
"You're leaving?" Lucy asked.
"Yes, My Queen, Aslan himself has asked me to gather more troops."
"You've seen Aslan?" Mr. Beaver asked.
"What's he like?" Asked Mrs. Beaver.
"Like, everything we've ever heard," said the fox.
At this talk of Aslan, Emily immediately drew back into herself again. Who was this Aslan that everyone talked of? Why would he call her to a land where she had no place? What did it all mean? Did she even have any meaning at all? All of these questions were bothering her.
About ten minutes later they were moving on and leaving the horrific testimony to the Witch's ways behind them.

You know, in genuine Biblical history, God called people who seemed out of place. We have looked recently in the Christianity section at the Book of Ruth; Ruth was of pagan origin, but was able to join the people of Israel through faith in the true God, and became an ancestor of King David.

I knew that. One of the reasons Emily is going through all of the stuff that she is is because I'm trying to show that. One of the many things that she is struggling with is a sense of out-of-placeness, which I am sort of dealing with myself right now.

They walked on for what seemed like hours; and they were all getting very tired. None of them dared to speak for fear that they might get caught. Lucy walked along, draging her feet and looking more tired than all of them put together. Emily saw this and suddenly she remembered someone else. But she wasn't going to let herself think about that. Peter gave Lucy a piggy back ride until they stopped for the night. They were all so tired that they fell asleep almost immediately.
Strangly, Emily's thoughts were not plagued by terrible dreams that night. She slept in peace, having no dreams to invade her mind. Later, she wondered at this, but I think it was Aslan, watching over the ones whom he had called into his country.

The next morning saw them on their way again. As usual, Emily was walking a little ways behind the others, thinking.
Lucy looked at Susan and asked, "Do you think she's okay?"
"I don't know, Lucy; why?" replied Susan.
"Because she's always thinking like that, it seems," said the little girl. "And she almost never looks happy about the things that she's thinking about. It worries me."
"I know Lucy, I've noticed the same thing."
Peter looked over his shoulder at the girl. Her dark brown eyes roved along the scenery, but he was sure that she saw none of it. Her eyes had the look of one who was lost, hopelessly, in a world of - of - he didn't know what.
