Original Pevensie's In Future Narnia Movies

Is Peter in the HHB? I thought he was off fighting giants during the book. Not to say they'd have to keep it that way for the movie. IF they get to make the movie... I'd love it if they'd keep the same actors. It'd be hard to like someone else after these first two movies. And I think these Pevensies were well cast, unlike the BBC versions where I would've loved for them to replace Lucy :)

In some of the books, some of the Pevensie kids make an appearance and I was wondering if you think the same actors will play the same role as they have as in Georgie Henley for Lucy, Skandar Keynes for Edmund, etc. I realize some of the characters will be of adult or older teenager age later in the series but by then they'll probably fit the age of the character. I do hope they play the same role, because it would be strange with a different person.

I also hope Liam Neeson does the voice for Aslan in all 7 movies, because it would be strange without him.

It would be awesome if the original Pevensies stayed. I'm hoping that since Will and Anna are supposedly contracted for VDT that they'll do flashbacks and stuff with the older ones. and I must admit, if they make Silver Chair and the rest without the older ones, it will be weird seeing the main characters as being different from the Pevensies. Even if the actors aren't that old, they can make them look older\younger with costumes and makeup and hair. Certainly worked with PC.

I really hope the actors never change and if they do it will be a terrible mistake, people won't want to see different actors, I think Walden should hurry up un the making of the movies... :)

We all know that the Peveneises comes back in HHB (at least 3). Not only that but we know that the Peveneises, Eustace, Jill, Polly and Digory all talk about there adventures in Narnia regularly in England. It would be neat if in the movie version of HHB we have the Peveneises sharing the story to the others. We know that Polly and Digory would not know the story, and Jill and Eustace had only heard a short version during dinner at the palace. This would better ground the story of the HHB with the other stories. This would also allow the HHB to be done after the MN. :D

that is a brilliant idea!!! i would never have thought of that, and it certainly would allow viewers into the story more easily than just starting with shasta. i think the beginning of the prince caspian movie suffered a bit because it started with caspians story, instead of what the pevensies were doing waiting at the station. they should have been discussing what they thought was happening in narnia right now, and then cut to caspian's escape.

susan's glorious return and better continuity for con

ok im gonna have to go back on what i said... susan can not be at the beginning of the hhb movie with all the others relaying her experience because in the real world SHE FORGETS ALL ABOUT NARNIA AND DOESNT CARE BY THAT TIME. if she's old enough to appear as an adult in hhb in NARNIA, then she cant also appear at the same time telling the story with the others back in england. it's incongruous. UNLESS they keep the character of susan as never FALLING AWAY which i think is a better option. god knows how we all feel about her never getting to narnia. nows the time to fix it. return her to the story, keep her in the beginning of hhb telling it, and keep her in the last battle at the end. i for one would find that more satisfying, especially as in hhb SHE LEARNS THAT GETTING MARRIED FOR MONEY, AND NICE CLOTHES ETC ARE NOT IMPORTANT. how could she forget her whole characters arc, once she returns to england?

Susan turning from Narnia is important to the overall theme of the novels- that it’s possible to lose faith. However, an equally important themes is forgiveness, the director himself admits it. I think it would be more profitable for the series to have Susan turn away and then be brought back by the events of the Last Battle (redemption of the lost theme). The siblings have to be in their late teens/early twenties for their part in The Last Battle and anywhere in that vicinity for Horse and his Boy (older if needed, younger if that works better) and Susan has to be 21 at their deaths. It never says she dies, so why not give her a chance at redemption somewhere in the near future?
It would work better if everything but MN and HHB was shot in a row, age wise, then horse and his boy could be shot with the Pevensies at an older, more appropriate for marriage age (by our standards) that fits in near the end of their reign. The problem would only be that with the ending given in LB, there wouldn’t be as much of a draw for fans who haven’t read the books.
I like the idea of using the Pevensies in England to tie in the other two stories, but if you leave the other stories in Susan’s hands, instead of in the hands of the other three, you pull Susan back into it, have Aslan charge her with passing on her newfound faith, and tie up her storyline with a life well lived in this world, in our world. Past twenty (but before thirty), most people don’t change so much that makeup can’t make them look twenty again (my younger cousins are convinced my aunt is still twenty (my age), though she’s closer to thirty, and truth be told, I still sometimes forget and think of her as twenty two, even though that would make her only two years older than me, rather than eight). Susan’s tale could be twenty/thirty minutes of each movie, acting like bookends, and wrap up with a natural death of old age after telling the second story, which transports her to the Garden with her siblings (I’d add a loving husband who believes in Narnia, on faith in her alone) for a joyous reunion, having passed on her faith to everyone she met, along with tales of Narnia (and perhaps, to leave everyone with the idea that the concept of Narnia is forever, even in the Shadowlands, with the passing on of the green and yellow rings to the next generation (her grandchildren))

Sorry if this post is too long- I’ve spent all day working on this idea, and because none of my friends have finished the books, I had no outlet… actually- I wrote my “bookends” for Susan’s part in the movie because I couldn’t discuss it with anyone!

susans glorious return

another great idea... love the concept of life continuing after death.... ie, the stories live on through susan after the last battle movie, when she recounts mn and hhb to others (like maybe her children??????????) like a childrens story. or have mn before last battle and just leave hhb to be the final chapter in the series (as above) where at the start of the movie susan is telling her children (Or grandchildren!!! even better!) the story of when she reigned in narnia and her thrilling escape from rabadash. (starting with cor and aravis story though.. its not all about her obviously). then at the end of the film, she says goodnight to the grandkids and goes to bed and dreams of narnia and dies in her sleep and is transported to aslans country for a reunion... OH HOW THIS COULD SO SO SO WORK.

I have decided you are kind of crazy. Have you not read the books?!? I'd sugest reading them again. For one thing they are told in Omnisent point of veiw so Susan telling them would NOT work. I'd like to point out Lewis didn't want the books made into movies and now I think I understand why.

Ps. No ofense.

PPs. I'm again going to say I'm glad some people on here are not in charge of making the Narnia movies.... Also As far as I can tell they are doing the movies IN THE ORDER LEWIS WROTE THEM, that means they'll probably do them in this order:
Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Silver Chair, Horse and His Boy, Magicians Nephew and The Last Battle.

Note experesed in this post are opions of a 12 year old and you do not have to take them seriously.

And thats all I have to say.

I agree that the films should stick to the books. However, we must be careful to attack ideas and not people. It is not permitted at any time on TDL, for members to call other members names. We must be respectful, even if we disagree with them. I do agree that there are some better suited to making the films than others, but there it is.

I believe they wanted to do MN before HHB, but that's the last I'd heard on it. Apart from that it should be done in published order, if done at all. We'll have to take it one film at a time now. There are no guarantees.
