Peepiceek's Odd-One-Out Quiz

Not sure how much that helps... I'm assuming that it's significant that you've named the Lone Lisands individually rather than just saying 'the Lone Islands'?
That's right. That is pertinent. You should not have to go far to solve 13B and 14B.

For 40, the connection is "school." A is a direct referrence to the schools of the day, B is a referrence to returning to school, C describes the desk Miss Prizzle clutched to and D describes Experiment House. Therefore I propose that the odd one out is C since it is the only referrence to something in a school while the other three refer to schools themselves. Correct reasoning?
Exactly correct.

Ok, so for 39, I also see, reading the end of Chapter 5 of The Silver Chair that Puddleglum had a sword. So did everyone except Corin handle a sword? Oh, probably not. I can't imagine Corin never handling a sword and I can't imagine the odd one out being that easy to solve.
Corin did handle a sword. Don't forget that the gift part of your previous guess was relevant too.

I'm still not sure about 41.
The relevant chapters are: TMN ch 11, HHB ch 1, PC ch 4, TLB ch 10.

As for yours, I'm completely stuck. Was I anywhere close on being sent or on enchantments for 13B? I can't think of a reason for separating out the names of the islands - except that they never landed on Avra, but I can't see how that would be relevant to any of the other clues. Although, the Wood between the Worlds was believed by Uncle Andrew to be Atlantis, and I remember Lucy saying they could pretend they were somewhere else at Cair Paravel (or am I mixing that up with pretending to be Arctic explorers in LWW?) so is it something to do with names of places?

Of course Corin handled a sword! Apart from any other occasion, he and Shasta/Cor (clandestinely) fought in the battle against Rabadash and his army towards the end of 'The Horse and his Boy'.

13B
A. Trumpkin
B. Lord Argoz, Lord Mavramorn, and Lord Revilian
C. Puddleglum
D. The Lady of the Green Kirtle

The answer has nothing to do with enchantments or missions. I'll give you another hint. Look at these respective chapters: PC Ch 3, VDT Ch 13, SC Ch 5, SC Ch 12

14B
A. The Wood Between the World
B. Ruins of Cair Paravel
C. Felimath, Avra and Doorn
D. Bism

Look at these respective chapters: MN Ch 3, PC Ch 2, VDT Ch 3, SC Ch 14

I guess I only pictured Corin fighting with his fists!

Anyway, Mr. Tumnus speaks to Shasta (thinking he is Corin), and we learn that Corin is promised a full suit of armor and a war-horse for his birthday, and that he will learn to tilt and joust. But there is not direction mention of a sword. I am not sure if this is important information or not.

My mum just came up with this suggestion:
Trumpkin, Puddleglum and the Lady all have human or partially-human appearance but are not, but the lords didn't look human at first but actually were. Is that it?

The information about Corin is true but not relevant here.

Ok, here goes:

13B
(a) PC ch 3 is called The Dwarf
(b) VDT ch 13 is called The Three Sleepers
(c) TSC ch 5 is called Puddleglum
(d) TSC ch 12 is called The Queen of Underland

so (c) is the odd one out as he is referred to by name in a chapter heading, while the others are referred to by a description. (Though I like my mum's answer better :p)

14B
(a) TMN ch 3 is called The Wood Between the Worlds
(b) PC ch 2 is called The Ancient Treasure House
(c) VDT ch 3 is called The Lone Islands
(d) TSC ch 14 is called The Bottom of the World

so (a) is the odd one out, for the same reason as above.

Here are four new ones as well:

#45.

Since we seem to be reviving old quiz threads this week, here's another one.

Just a reminder of the rules. The four items mentioned are connected, but one of them in a different way from the others. I'll give the answers to two of the unanswered questions as examples.

#39.
(a) Father Christmas
(b) Corin
(c) The Seven Brothers of Shuddering Wood
(d) Puddleglum

Answer: (b) Corin. The others all gave swords to someone (Father Christmas to Peter, the dwarves to Caspian, Puddleglum to Eustace), while Corin received a sword.

#41.
(a) The Bulldog
(b) Shasta
(c) Caspian
(d) Rishda Tarkaan

Answer: (b) Shasta. The others all spoke to other creatures hoping to get a reply but got none (the Bulldog to Uncle Andrew, Caspian to the animals in the castle, Rishda Tarkaan to Ginger the Cat), while Shasta spoke to Bree not expecting a response but getting one.

These questions are still unanswered from before:

(d) Given twenty-four lashes

For this, I'll say a. The others are what Larsaleen would have done to her servant if he told of Aravis.

No. In fact, I think only (c) is from Lasraleen.

(d) "Where the waves grow sweet"

It's the only saying that was meant specifically for someone.

a, b, and c were all servants for the professor in his large country house. That leaves out Sarah. I don't know if a Sarah ever appears in the CON.
Correct. Actually, Sarah was the housemaid for Uncle Andrew and Aunt Letty.

BK - not correct, I'm afraid. There needs to be a stronger connection between the clues than that. Like in the one above - all four were housemaids, but one was housemaid for Andrew and Letty while the other three were for Professor Kirke.

MrBob is on the right track, all of these were kinds of punishments described. A, b, and c are from HHB where Lasaraleen promises to give any of her servants that reveals her guest to anyone. I don't know who is given 24 lashes. Aravis' servant is whipped but only 10 times.

Timmy, you are getting closer on this one. But as I said before, only one of these is from Lasraleen. And you are right to remember Aravis's servant. The other two are from LWW and VDT.
