Peepiceek's Odd-One-Out Quiz

(a) Digory to Uncle Andrew
(b) Susan to Lucy
(c) Rabadash to the Tisroc
(d) Miraz to Glozelle

Ok then, the odd one out is (d) Miraz to Glozelle because Miraz it's the only one who didn't talk back to the other. The other 3 all talked back to the other person.
No - it's much more specific about something that was actually said by one to the other.

(a) King Frank’s crown
(b) The golden chessman
(c) Lord Octesian’s bracelet
(d) The fruit of the trees of Bism

Ok then, Lord Octesian's bracelet is the odd one out since it was encrusted with diamonds and not rubies. The other had or were rubies.
Correct.

I'm surprised no-one has got #11 yet - I thought it was quite easy.

I've added another five to the list. That's my last set for the moment - I've run out of new ideas, but if others want to have a go at setting some then feel free!

#22.
(a) One of the giants on the Narnian side at the battle of Anvard
(b) One of the Telmarine soldiers sent to execute Trumpkin
(c) Roonwit the Centaur
(d) The horses in The Last Battle

They were all killed by arrows. the odd one is eather:

1. The horses, they were attacked by their "allies" (dwarfs)
2. Telmarine, he had a chance to surrender but didn't took it
3. Telmarine, he survived

I don't really remembers if the telmarines died or not...

btw, I'm maybe have a odd-one-out (only one though). I may not be as good as yours but atleast it's a odd-one. I'll post it soon!

You're along the right lines with point 3, but you need to be more specific.

On your answer to #23, check your facts!

I'm struggling with your odd-one-out - I've had a few ideas, but I don't think any of them is correct:
- It could be about reforming their character - Uncle Andrew reforms in his old age, and Rabadash becomes peaceful, and Caspian becomes favourable to Old Narnia, but Jadis never reforms. That's my best guess, but I don't think it's right because Caspian doesn't really 'reform' as such.
- I also pondered whether it is about riding horses - all do except Uncle Andrew who rides behind a horse - but that's probably not specific enough.
- I also wondered if it might be about defying Aslan, but Caspian doesn't really defy Aslan in VDT, because he changes his mind when Aslan speaks to him.

Am I anywhere close with any of those ideas? I assume that by calling her Jadis rather than the White Witch the thing you have in mind is from TMN rather than LWW? And which book is the Caspian thing taken from?

1. I read that part with the boat, and there were two telmarines in the boat, Susan shot one in the helmet, the other one escaped. Did the one who get hit die? I can't read that he survived, so he must have died. Maybe he's the odd one because the arrow was supposed to not kill him, but it did.

2. huh? Peter was the Great, Lucy the valiant, Susan the Gentle and Edmund the Just. But the peacemaker? or wait... didn't lewis mentioned that Edmund was a peacemaker just in the end? So (c) peacemaker, is the odd one because it was a synonym, Edmund was both the peacemaker and the Just!

3. Sadly, none of them is close. But the thing that I call her Jadis is a clue though...
Caspian is for book 5, (VDT). ;)

The one who was hit survived, and that is the one that is referred to in this clue.

Peter the Great was a king of Russia, not a king of Narnia! And Edmund was not called the Peacemaker.

okey... I'm from sweden (in scandinavia) and in swedish it's: Peter den Store
(den store=Great).

Wasn't he? I must remember wrong then...

I had a idea that all except the telmarine were killed by calormen, but the horses were killed by dwarfs so thats not right...

the giant is maybe the odd one because he was the only one that knew he was in danger:
The horses didn't though that the dwarfs would attack them, Ronwitt was ambushed by calormen and the telmarine didn't knew that susan shot at him...

or, The telmarine was the one that most likely would survive a arrow (Giants, horses and Ronwitt was tougher then him. that would make the telmarine the odd one.

In English, Peter is the Magnificent.

I think you have it more or less correct. The answer I was looking for was that they were all killed with arrows, except the Telmarine soldier who had Susan's arrow glance off his helmet.

Okey. Now when you says it I remember it.

Wasn't that what I first guessed (3. The Telmarine where the only one that was hit by an arrow and survived) :O

You having any sucess on my odd one?

I don't suppose this is right, but: Jadis is an Empress of her whole world; Caspian is the Emperor of the Lone Islands; Rabadash is the Tisroc, who is an Emperor of Calormene dominions; Uncle Andrew is not ruler of an empire, although Jadis assumes that he must be king of a large part of his world.

I also wondered if it was about turning white, but I couldn't make a strong connection - I don't remember Rabadash turning white, and I'm not sure if Uncle Andrew did either.

No, not the answers I'm after. But think about the Jadis thing, it might give you a clue.

Hmm - I think I need more of a clue. I'm confused by the fact that the Jadis clue is not book-specific but the Caspian one is. Is it about how they refer to themselves or something like that?

Well, Caspian isn't taken from VDT, but it is a connection to VDT. If so, you could say none of them is bookspecific, but instead character-specific!

You're getting closer...

I go it. The odd one out is (b) Susan to Lucy. The other 3 called the other person "coward" or something similar. Susan never said that to Lucy.

s

I thought it would be the hardest, that's why I had not attempted it. They all looked so unrelated.

#11.
(a) Lord Sopespian
(b) The Queen of Underland (in her serpent form)
(c) Corradin of Castle Tormunt
(d) Puzzle the donkey

The answer is (d). The others died by having their heads cut off in a fight. I am not sure (have to look it up) how Puzzle died, but for sure he died with his head firmly on, lol.

Correct - the first one called the other a coward, except for Susan who told Lucy that someone else was a coward (specifically, the creatures who killed Aslan).

Correct again. They all had their heads cut off except for Puzzle, who would have had his head cut off by Tirian had Jill not intervened.

Nice. I already have six. I think I need to re-read the Chronicles if I want to have any hope of solving others. I will start right now. :D
