Alice and Susan continue towards the castle in their search for the Walrus. Suddenly, Lucy ran up to them.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"They are looking for the Walrus and I am helping them," said the cat, appearing quite suddenly and scaring all three girls.
"You know," said Susan, "I really wish that you wouldn't do that!"
"Have you been following us around this whole time?" Alice asked.
"Why of course," replied the cat. "I've seen everything that's happened so far."
"Wonderful," Alice muttered. "Do you know where the Walrus is?"
"I most certainly do know where he's not," answered the cat.
"Then you will also where he is," said Lucy.
"Certainly," said then cat. "If he is not here or there, then he must be somewhere else."
"Agh! A big help you are," Alice groaned. "Please, this is rather important."
The cat grinned. "Follow me."
