Polly Plummer

Dakota Blue is 15, her birthday is April 11. I agree she would have made a great Polly, but not anymore.

The next Polly should be about 7-9 years-old right now, maybe younger depending on when they would do the filming.

Yah ... so sad. I think sh'ed make the perfect Polly. : ( (Perhaps she's a little sister? Hahaha.)
 
WOW I agree Polly should be 7 or 8 but I doubt she'll be that age in the movie, because she has to be as old as Diggory, and you know it's not easy to work with children who are that young, and it's not easy for them either, this is why they pick older kids ... I think Polly should be about 12 ...

For Dakota Blue Richards, yes she's way too old, but she died her hair in black ... and she's Lyra I mean, I couldn't picture as Polly ... But if she did play Polly, she'd need blond hair, and a bang :)
 
Powl, I was saying that the actress right now would be about 7 or 8 since they won't be filming for about 5 years still. That would put her at 12 or 13 when they finally do the filming.

And I know this is picking nits, but I always thought Polly was about 10-11 not 12-13. To me, that is a huge difference.

@MrBob - Well, it can be pretty easy for 12 year olds, and even some 13 year olds, to pass for 10 or 11 year olds.

@Powl' - Well, even if she wasn't too old, she's a natural blonde (she died her hair black for a film), and it's easy to give people a fringe. All that stuff is really, really, really easy to do.

Personally, I think Elle Fanning (on the right; the girl on the left is her older sister Dakota) would be a pretty good Polly too, if she were English.

Powl, I see age in the eyes. A child may look younger, but their eyes sho their real age. It's hard to explain how.

I sort of get what you're saying. Though I disagree sometimes; good actors are able to mask anything about who they actually are.
 
Who should play Polly?

I think Elle Fanning would be great, but I don't know about a British Accent. Any one you would want to see?

How old is she? She looks pretty young in that picture. And with younger actresses, accents can sound kinda cheesy. She was in Because of Winn-Dixie, but when she was, like...5.
 
I'll say no to Elle Fanning. She is going to be 13 in April. We need to stay with actresses from the UK and I would prefer both Polly and Digory to be about 9-11, about the same as Georgie in LWW.
