Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I'm GLAD they made Caspian older, closer to Peter's age. Him being 12, 13, 14 just seemed kinda weird to me. idk.

i'm glad they made Caspian older as well. :p and i'm glad Ben Barnes was casted for the part. i watched it again for the 4th time last night...and i can't help but notice how great of an actor he is. i was studying ppl's expressions this time around...and Ben Barnes, i thought, delivered the best. from his "wtf?" expression when he meets Reepicheep for the first time...to the longing, regretful worry looks he gives to Susan...to the confrontation with Miraz. he is just an amazing actor and i really felt for him.

Lady of the Lion's Mane, I liked the boy they used in the BBC version of PC. He was about 13-years-old. As I have already mentioned, it makes more sense to have a younger teen than an older teen or an adult--especially if they are going to make Miraz a Lord Regent rather than a usurper King.

But you are right that the change in Peter's age necessated the change in Caspian's age.

I loved Ben Barnes as Caspian. In the movie he looks a good age. But in reality he's 26!! That's to old for Caspian. In the movie he's portraying a 19-21 year old. He did a great job, but how does he appear so young?!?!

26 years old is not old. Hes totally young ( *Sigh* I´m 33, so I am dying LOL :o)

Someone of 26 looks exactly as when it was 18 , sometimes as 16. So it´s totally OK a 26 portraying a 21 XD Exactly the same.

It depend on the person. In the 20s people don´t get old.
Your body start to get old at 30s decade *sigh*

Well, so, conclution... I find the age thing very confusing...:confused:

Anyways the casting is totally OK. Especially if there´s no evidence about the young age of those characters.

It´s true, it would be totally out of place a 13 years old Caspian.

He just looks that young. I'm 22 and look like a 16-year old. I guess you are quite young, aren't you? So when you will be older you will see that 26 isn't old. The number might seem old, but I'm still feeling sooo young and I think it won't change the next years. Maybe it will never change :D
So age doesn't mean anything.

He was AMAZING! He was actually really close to the book Caspian in way of curiosity, awe of and submissiveness to Peter, humility, and innocence. I LOVED him. He is going to be so awesome in VDT. I can't wait! :)

Heh. :o Yes, I am young. But it was just so surprising to me. He looked like 18 to me.

I thought he looked early 20's, but it doesn't really matter now, considering that he was a HUGE Narnia fan as a kid, and lived up to his childhood imaginations :) He was downright awesome.

He looked much younger in the film than he did in the behind the scenes photos,imo..which made me happier.:p I hadn't gotten used to an older Caspian untill the movie started.:p

Now that I think about it I am glad they made him older in the movie! Because in the bbc version Caspian looks like the same age as Peter, and it's the same way in the new one! So I am glad they they did it that way.
