I want to learn. My husband is thinking about retirement, and we're actually looking at ranch property in central Texas. I would like to have a horse and learn to ride. I also want a fat little donkey.

It's not hard to learn. Although, the first time I ever rode horseback that WASN'T a trail-guided one, I got my face scratched up by a tree. Go figure. But it was still fun. When I go back to my friend's house (where I rode) I'm going to ask if I can learn to saddle a horse and if we go riding, we aren't going back into the wooded areas. No, I'm just too terrible at ducking to be riding a horse through the woods. (but horses are REALLY expensive and the cost of just feeding it is....waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy more than we can afford. Not to mention all the things you need to go with a horse; a saddle, blanket, bridle, grooming supplies, a place to keep the horse and said supplies, and veterinarian costs.) If I don't ever get a horse on earth, I hope I have one in heaven.

Go, no, do you really have a donkey named Jackson? I thought you were talking to me -- because my name is Jaxn and people often write it "Jackson," it's pronounced the same way. I usually go just by Jax though. But a donkey Jackson. That's cool.

We leave Saturday for the Netherlands Antilles (Dutch-owned Caribbean islands) where they have wild donkeys. One Bonaire, the wild donkeys were getting in the way of progress and now they have Donkeys Sanctuary for them. Here are some donkeys from there ... They're so cute!
