That Turkish Delight looks so yummy... I remember buying some a long time ago but it was nothing like that. It was just artificial gummy stuff with powdered sugar. Very disappointing. :p I'd like to try the authentic kind some day!!

Looking back on the winter where I was raised.

Here is some Double Pistachio Turkish Delight that I brought back from Turkey. Imagine the honey sweetness of baklava but with lots of pistachios (instead of walnuts) in a chewy mix similar to the consistancy of mochi (or soft but edible chewing gum for those of you that don't dig Japanese food) sprinkled with powdered sugar. (I turned 2 pieces on their sides so you could see what they look like without the powdered sugar.) Caution: It really is tempting... and addictive.

Ooh, yummy! I remember having real Turkish Delight once when I was little and loving it.

I made Shchi (russian cabbage soup)

I thought this was cute! :D

That looks delicious.

I'm getting hungry.:p

This is the result of our suture lab yesterday. we used kitchen sponges to practice our suture patterns. The yellow arrows point to my first, botched simple continuous pattern; the red arrow, to my 2nd simple continuous pattern, and the blue arrow to my simple interrupted pattern. This was actually a lot of fun, even though my sponge kept on moving and my knots weren't very pretty.

@ Aravis pretty cool work you did. :) On the sponge. Well done.

Here is a picture I wanted to share. He's my best friend for life and today I had him for 9 years. Well he's 9 years old. Longest dog we had yet.

He's a Golden Retriever, named Leo. My baby also lol!

AravisK,
that's so cool that you practice on sponges. Did you use a curved or straight needle? What kind of thread did you use?

Lolly,
your dog looks like he has a really sweet and loyal personality...

Curved. And it was huge. And we used a really big suture that isn't really used anymore (I'm assuming they used it because it cost nothing). Thankfully, I wasn't practicing it on a live animal. But the reason we practice is because we're sometimes called on to suture tissues if the surgeon can't.

Alive pics! :D

First we have the beautiful Atwood lake beach :D

Next is "Icon for Hire". At this point they said "Storytime!" and told everyone to sit down. So we were all sitting :p

Last, is my homeboy Lecrae :p
