Hey !!! I've been on a trip in South Africa last week, and I was thinking, why not share it with everyone on the dancing Lawn !!!! So I asked a moderator, and he told me to post this thread here, which is kind of logik :p

So tell us where you've been, what you liked there (meat, languages, clothes, cultures, arts ...) and you can post some pictures if you want, that's be cool :D I hope lots of you will come here to share their best moments in foreign countries !!!

In Poland in 2002, when my ship was on port call there, I was one of twenty or so U.S. Navy sailors who went, in civilian clothes, led by a chaplain, to visit an orphanage in Gdynia. The kids there were obsessed with soccer-type football; the World Cup competition was in progress at the time. The older kids asked our younger sailors to play a soccer game with them, so we all went out to the playing field. The kids scored one point; then the sailors came back and scored a point; then the orphanage management stopped the game so no one would lose. Back at the orphanage, we enjoyed a luncheon which, naturally enough, included excellent Polish sausage.

The only place I've ever gone beside PA has been Flordia.....

But I might go on a missions trip with my youth group...which I have no clue where or when that'll be.

Powl, I took plenty of pictures in Poland, but am unable to post them here. We were in Gdynia something like five days. We also got to visit Malbork Castle, which I believe I once described on the old Architecture thread.

I went to Belgium a lot of times but both dutch and belgians don't consider this as a foreign country :D In 1987 I went to Franfurt. Only for one day. In 1990 I went to Prague Czech Republique for a week. It was very entertaining because this was when the cold war had ended. I also went to see Therzin and it's sad. Deep sad to see what happened to the jewish.

In 1992 I became a formula 1 fanatic and in 1994 I went to Monaco Grand Prix. I saw not only France but also Monaco. I enjoyed my time there. I also went to Hockenheim germany in 1994 which is a small town but worth to see. I loved the german people. They all were nice to me when I cheered for Ferrari :D

In 1995 I went to Bedford England and to Silverstone. It was a complete new adventure. We not only went through the euro tunnel but it was the first time for me being in England! And I love the UK. All cars driving on the left side and just the idea of being in britain.

In 1995 I visited Italy for the first time. We crossed Luxemburg and Switzerland. I saw the Alps and they are soooo beautiful! Eternal snow on top as they say. Italy is a fun country but it has huge contradictions. The southern part is pover and poor while the northern part is beautiful. I even have been on Rai Uno :D The hotelmanager said he saw me on tv during the practise of F1 GP

in 2005 I went to London the UK for a 6 days. We (mom and me) went on a bustrip. I love London!! I have enjoyed my christmas time there and will definitely go back there. Btw...I saw James macAvoy over there. He walked alone and was wearing a cap. Nobody recognized him and he walked quickly.

in 2006 me and my mom went to New York City to spent Christmas and New Year's eve there. I remember the first time I was on a plane. Have I felt excited or what!!!!! I can recall almost every detail of this trip. NYC is one of the cities I have fallen in love with forever and I will go back there. I have visited many attractions. And I had an appointment with Lady Liberty :D

So in 2007 I visited Toronto, Canada to spet Christmas and New Year's Eve. My mom always loved Canada. I love Canada and the canadians. They are nice, friendly and wiling to help you out. I wanted to visit a Hockey game and the Hockey Hall of fame but my mom didn't like it. My brother wants to go there mainly because of the whole Hockey culture and the Hockey Hall of fame.

This year I haven't planned a holiday. But next year I'm going to LA for three weeks. It will be either September or October

OMG !!! I've never been in America yet (ashamed) but I've seen lots of countries, I'll post some pictures of Namibie or South Africa when they'll be on the computer ;)

It doesn't have to be at the same time :p Maybe I'll go to Europe on your return home:eek: We could fly together!!!:D

Or I'll fly to the US when you return home :D But what way doesn't matter. It would be great to meet you!
