Sonnets Here, In-House

You did it!!! :D Michael's sonnet is wonderful and indeed touching. He deserves it because he is a great person and a good father ;)

Everybody who has the honor to get a special sonnet deserves it anyway including the writer himself but because nobody makes one about themselves others will do the job :D

While thanking you again, lovely Vanessa, I can't help following my instincts for clarification. You yourself already know the distinction I'm about to state, but now it will be clearer for the kids. It's true that no normal poet will write poems IN PRAISE OF HIMSELF, but he may very well write poems DESCRIBING HIS EXPERIENCES.

Too true. The only one who would enjoy a poem of praise written by himself for himself (if this makes sense) IS himself; because to others it'd be like reading boasting babble, and no one likes that.

Lovely sonnet, as per usual, honoring BK. He's one of the few here who can say they've met me in person, and he's just as kind and compassionate as he comes across here.

Bravi!

Orange, there are too many members here for me to write even haiku, let alone sonnets, about ALL of them. But I set no top limit; I'll just write sonnets as I get ideas appropriate to the persons.

Not a sonnet, but an expression of gratitude...

Copper is a healing sort of thing
speaking to the Narnian queen and king
with gentle words dancing on the lawns
of nymphs and naiads, trees and fauns.

Fox sees all that remains out of sight
to anyone who doesn't walk in His light,
but yet calls attention and praise to those
whose paths cross the one he chose.

You mean like Whitman's 'Song of Myself'? (gag...)

These are quite enjoyable, and this most recent one was a fine tribute indeed - keep up the good work.

FOR UMBRELLAxSCENExCORE

Umbrellas with transparent central part
Were what the girl meant by her forum name;
Once this is understood, my work of art
Can turn to saying: it would be a shame

If Pakistan's most precious daughter yet
Should ever think, one minute of one day,
That this old man could possibly forget
Her blessing to my Janalee's last day.

And it was also Farah who beheld
The cliffs of Aslan's Country, with my love
Alive up there, forever strong and well,
And able to see me from up above.

So, Farah, may God's love hold you erect,
And bless you more than you know to expect.

Beautifully written, Mr. Copperfox!
