Sonnets Here, In-House

Farah, I hope your walls at least contain a peephole--so you can see THIS:

Second Sonnet For Farah

The girl must know how greatly I enjoyed
Assisting her to scan "Lord of the Flies;"
Now, be her forum name Printpolaroid,
Or something else, may God make Farah wise

In what she reads and studies, what she plays,
Which friendships she pursues, and which discards;
How she endures the trapped and boring days,
And how she dresses--jeans or leotards.

May what seems wasted living fertilize
Maturity for her, and may she find
More than TV to edify her eyes,
And more than sexy vampires for her mind,

So that, upon the flight of womanhood,
She finds that even pain did her some good.

UH?:eek:
Oh Joe, if I could write, if only I could write, you would see. *glares* :p
Oh my God, I don't watch that much tv Joe, Honestly. I do what there is to do. Hm, This is funny...this is cute. Very sweet too in a sort of way ;)
You...you're lucky, lucky, lucky I can't write. :p

I already knew that you were not a true TV addict; but I had to use SOMETHING to show contrast to the wisdom I wish you to gain in life.

"What you subsidize, you get more of"

No. 5 for MGGT-Took

She chats with Uniquemonke and Gentle Voice,
QueenAravis and Josie Caspian,
Consorting with her juniors with true poise,
As only one securely grounded can.

She plays with teens as if a teen herself,
Yet never lets adulthood slip from sight;
Her kind of youthfulness is life and health,
So even in the silly, she shines light.

For light has come to her, as when she dreamed
She saw my Mary standing by the sea;
She lit once more the light of grace that gleamed
When Mary more directly came to me.

Vanessa shares God's grace with young and old;
Her hands may be, but her heart's never cold.

Second Sonnet for the BADGER

Left-wing cliches that speak of "waging peace,"
As code for plain surrender, get my goat;
But hippie-based analogies will cease
For those who hear fair words from Badger's throat.

Speak even once with Mister Burkitt, and
At last, the thought of "waging peace" turns real;
His very being wants to be God's hand
Of grace, to reconcile, to bless and heal.

Not to give in to evil, but to spread
Forgiveness, mercy, and the greater good
To largest numbers: that's what fills the head
Of one deserving to be understood.

Agree or don't, but never once deny
That John's ideals are highest of the high.

To Driad54

I hope you join the Coast Guard; they can use
Your active mind, well formed for one your age.
You look for concrete facts, and you refuse
To be deceived by empty shouts of "Change!"

Free enterprise, good local government;
Officials answering to you and me:
You know that these things all were the intent
Of our great Founders, meant to keep us free.

By your admission, lessons do remain
For you to learn regarding unseen things;
Remember, Copperfox loves to explain
What he has learned about the King of Kings,

The King from Whom democracy itself
Receives the chance to build a commonwealth.
