lol. I think my parents saw them in theaters but they still get mixed up at the story order. lol, so I stopped trying to explain how they went. (here's a "sample" of the conversation I had with my dad.)

me: "yeah, episodes 4-6 came out first, but they're really last in story."

dad: "so it's backwards?"

me; "Uh yeah....lucas didn't plan so well." :p

that's about as close as I can remember.

I saw them in theaters, as did my husband, although we did not know each other at that time. So he never was a huge fan, but when his daughters were younger, the new ones started coming out ... and of course the girls and I wanted to see them, and we had to try to explain to him what the order was! The typical conversations were like this:

My hubby: So this little kid is Darth Vader?

Daughter: He's going to become Darth Vader when he grows up!

Hubby: But he's Sky-Walker. I think that's Luke Sky-Walker.

Me: No, remember, Luke is actually Darth Vader's son? So he would be named Sky-Walker.

Hubby: So you think that little kid is Darth Vader?!

:)

I must admit Hayden looks hot in RotS but I never watched Star Wars because of him :D The main reason I watched Star Wars was because of his future son Luke Skywalker. As I already told 10.000 times ( :p I know...I am annoying) I had a mega crush on Luke when I was younger.
Inky...your hubby is hilarious! But I had the same. I also had to ask my brother who Anakin Skywalker was but after my bro explained it, I knew he would be the future Darth Vader.

If you were old enough to see the originals in the cinema, it was such a huge deal to find out Luke and Leia were brother and sisters!!!! Oh my goodness, it was shocking because everyone was hoping for romance between the two good heroes (Han Solo being a somewhat disreputable hero).

Those were fun days. When the new prequels began coming out (Episode One), we rented the originals to show our daughters the story, you know, and they were laughing at the special effects which had been so groovy back in 1980 ...

ink don't feel bad about having to explain stuff. My sister saw Anakin and said, "Is that LUke's son???" I'm like, "No sis, that's his father."

she kept asking stuff but if someone hasnt' seen or read anything on Star Wars, it's so hard to explain it to them that I didn't even try.

yeah......he was using the force on me keeping me from throwing my lightsaber...;)

To be honest...I was happy when they were brother and sister :D I always thought they would come together but it was soon clear Leiah loved Han. Of course it is funny for others who are used to the new technologies to see the old technology but for us (oldies ;)) it still means a lot.
I was 11 when RotJ was released but I wasn't allowed to see it so I had to listen to my brother's story about the movie which even made me wanting to see it much more!

Star Wars is going to be aired on SpikeTv, in April sometime. All six on tv....which they're probably going to have some scenes shortened; they just better not touch Obi's scenes. :p
