Tales from the Wardrobe...

"Poor dear," said Lucy, "there has got to be something that made him do this. Oh what could it be!?"

(ooc where exactly are we going with this?)

Here, I'll help you see where it's going

"The mad idiot will kill me!" the craven ram wailed again.

"Did this idiot actually threaten you?" asked Edmund.

"No," the sheep admitted. "But I found out about him from Nedwal and Chadixa."

{Since it doesn't violate her personality, and people should remember she's here, just once I'll put one line IN Susan's mouth.}

Susan's graceful eyebrows leaped up. "Nedwal! That was the name of the weasel Peter saw in a dream!"

"Yes, weasel," mumbled the sheep; "and Chadixa's a friend of his, a girl Faun."

"Uh oh," Lucy said," I didn't want to say this back when we were having breakfast that one morning, but I had a strange feeling then. I didn't want to upset Peter and the others, but now I think I should have said something."

"M'lady," Ebony inquired, "do you think the feeling you had mentioned at breakfast is the same as the one you feel now?"

"Yes I do beleive they are the same."

"Tell us more about Nedwal and Chadixa," rumbled Horatius; he had not been angry at the sheep for fearing him needlessly, but now he was irritated that the creature was causing worry to Queen Lucy, whom he revered greatly.

"They play inside a big box with an open front," said the ram. "That's how they teach us and warn us about the mad idiot. They put things on their hands that look like little people."

"You mean puppets?" asked Edmund.

"Yes, puppets. They make a show. One puppet--Nedwal holds this one--looks like the mad idiot. They show us that he's so stupid he doesn't know which end of a sword to hold on to; but if anyone corrects him about anything, he gets angry and kills them if they don't get away."

Remembering what Peter had related the weasel saying in the dream, Edmund said, "Is there a title? A name for the puppet show?"

"Yes," replied the timid animal, with lowered eyes. "You won't let him kill me?"

"No one would want to kill so pitiful a beast as you," growled Horatius. "Go ahead and answer Their Majesties."

The sheep gathered his courage, then whispered, "They call it 'Peeper the Mad Idiot.' "

The Pevensies and Aravis all looked at each other, suddenly realizing what name and honorific were mocked by this puppet-show title.

OOC: Aravis will soon have her hubby with her after all: Knight of Narnia says he wants to come in as King Cor! I sent him a plot summary.

======================================

Horatius got right to the point with the sheep. "Did the puppet show say that you should DO something? Something like fighting against Peeper the Mad Idiot?"

"FIGHT?" gasped the sheep. "No, no, no! The MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war! The MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war! The MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war!"

Horatius put a forepaw, with claws safely sheathed, on the bleating animal's snout. "All right, all right, we understand about the madness. You were not told to fight against Peeper the Mad Idiot. Were you told to do anything?"

"Only to be afraid of him--and never help him, never help him to make the MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war!"

(ooc OH YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!)

"Well," Lucy said in a more commanding tone, "Dont listen to the weasal dear Sheep. He was lying to you. There is no Peeper the Mad Idiot. There is, however, Peter the Magnificent, and I can tell you this, he is everything good and fair for he follows Aslan, as do I. Dont you trust in your Kings and Queens to portect you?"

"But they fight everyone!" protested the ram. "Fight giants, fight pretty minotaurs, always hate and hate. The MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war! The MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war!"

"Easy," said Horatius, touching his nose again. "Do any Children of Adam attend the puppet shows?"

"Never. Children of Adam hate hate hate--make the MA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ADNESS of war!"

"Then perhaps more beasts should see this puppet show," said Horatius, looking up at Queen Lucy. "Your Majesty, the inn would allow Shangpo the Orangutan to perform a service if you asked it. Shangpo's a friendly sort, not one to arouse alarm among seditious types. What if he and Kreechikee were to attend the next performance of this puppet theater, and find out what is really being advocated? You need only extract from this woolly fool the whereabouts of Nedwal and Chadixa, and the ape and the mouse can investigate independently, while you continue your quest. I myself will either stay with you, or accompany Shangpo and Kreechikee, as Your Majesty prefers."

==========================

[And that gets the subplot rolling, without the main party needing to be held up any more for it. I'm breaking to eat.]

Royal Sisters and friends, what you propose is a great enterprise. Both Shagpoo and Kreechikee are trustworthy and loyal. As for you, dear Horatius, do you think that these misguided souls doing this so called "show" will recognize you as the servant of the King and Queens? because if they do, they may choose to not be so overt with their deception."

"The High King should overtake us in a a few hours. When he does, he will be in charge of how to proceed from here on."

OOC: Since Peter is coming, and King Cor will eventually join the party. I feel Edmund should go back to Cair Paravel and take care of the Capital. Besides, Ed really misses his Princess-Consort, the Lady Angela. And since Edmund is the "Just" he is the perfect person to give the final veredict at the trial going on at Cair Paravel. Accordingly:

"Dear Sister Lucy, I have the feeling that I this a most important enterprise that interests the High King personally. And I feel that he must take charge of it and I should go back to the Capital to oversee this trial, along, of course with my Dear Angela, who is no doubt doing a marvelous job."
"I feel that I must start back to Cair Paravel at once. Dear sister, would you talk to the High King and advise him that I may meet him before he reaches this place?"

While the dignitaries discussed these things, Ralph the page was sent inside the Swerving Swan to ask the owners in the rulers' name to lend Shangpo to them. Horatius then applied himself to coaxing out of the sheep what he knew about where to find Nedwal the Weasel and Chadixa the young Fauness.

When the sheep had told what he could, Horatius asked him, "Do you have a family awaiting you?"

"Yes, sir."

"Then with Their Majesties' permission, I send you home now to them. You need not concern yourself with us further--EXCEPT in one thing. You will NOT let anyone know about what you told us, or I may have to be annoyed with you." And this time he let the sheep see his bared claws at close range.

"Brother," she said to Edmund, "I will talk to Peter, and yes you should hold fort at Cair Paravail, but still I fear that this weasal has too many followes for my own comfort. So I will ask you not to retaliate if things become worse. We dont want them to give more reason to hate us."

Lucy turned to Ebony.
"Ride a little ways into the woods," she whispered, "And then leave me."

"As you wish," said Ebony.

When Lucy was alone she called to Peter.

"Peter are you there? Do you remember that dream of yours? About the Weasal?"

Meanwhile, back in the country of Archenland, I (King Cor) had just returned from negotiating a trade pact with the Calormens. I rode up to the stables and had my squires remove the saddle from my horse. This horse however was no ordinary horse, but was in fact the first-born from Bree and a lovely mare named Eun, a gallant young colt named Windchaser (I had been given the honor of naming the horse).

"Aw, is that all the riding we get to do today?" asked the young horse

"Is that all? We have ridden nearly all day, it is quite a journey from the port all the way to the castle."

"But we were just getting a good pace going, I could run like that for days!" the horse replied

"I have no doubt in your ability to run my friend, but you must save some of that energy for later."

Suddenly, I heard a great commotion coming towards me as my brother, Prince Corin, came running towards me as fast as he could.

"Brother! It .. is good ... you... have returned" said Corin who was notably out of breath

"My dear brother, what is so urgent that you would tire yourself out to bring me the news?"

"Ask Krentell, he has recently returned from the Hermit's house with news!"

We proceeded back into the throne room and met with Lord Krentell.

"My brother tells me you have an urgent message from the Hermit."

"Yes my young King. Please have a seat, this may take a while to explain."

OOC: Ok, I think I did this right. I'm going to read up on this RPG so that I can make sure I get the story right. Please let me know in an OOC if I need to change anything.

Ok well I love to RP and so I figured I'd start one b/c it seems I'm too late to join one. lol

Ok this RP will take place during the golden ages of Narnia. I will play Queen Lucy(cuz I love her!) and so this RP will be the adventures her and the others will have in Narnia as kings and queens. So these are who we'll need:

Peter
Susan
Edmund
Mr. Tumnus
Lucy's ladies in waiting (up to three or four)
Susan's Ladies in waiting (same thing)
Mr. and Mrs Beaver
Aslan
Cor
Corin
Aravis
And ANY characters you can come up with. Maybe a Mrs. Pevensie? Or Prince Charmings? who ever!

did someone already take Jill ??? I know I'm a little late on this thread:p:p:o

(Timing still puts this before Peter hears what Tumnus learned)

Peter, who never liked being parted from Lucy for any great length of time, was instantly cheered by the sound of her voice. "Yes, I remember being told that my dream didn't matter, that it was just the product of my worries. I'm sure that was right; we have so much else to think of. How are you faring, dear one?"

========================

POWL: Within the latest 3 or 4 pages, there are a couple of review posts, distinguished by colored type. They'll help you. I think all human female roles are taken--unless you want to offer a new one who would have been present at the Swerving Swan Inn, heard what was up, and asked to join the expedition.

I've messaged Powl that there are still options for her to play

When Peter heard Lucy narrate what the stupid sheep had revealed, he whistled. "And here I'd gotten convinced that the dream was nothing! A treasonous puppet play; now I've heard everything! Are you taking any action?" This made the High King even more eager to be with Lucy and the others.

Meanwhile, back at the capital, Princess-Consort Angela had an inspiration for filling the third seat on the first-instance tribunal. Dranvalan the Antelope, still convalescing, had cause to hate the defendant Zelzil because she had shot him by mistake before killing her intended victim Blinjarda; but counterbalancing this, he had been reminded many times by Centauress Yedulia how much he owed to Grodlork and the other Satyrs who had come to his aid. In addition, the same antipathy he felt for Satyrs would extend to his not caring much that Blinjarda had perished; so, taking one thing with another, he might prove to be nicely impartial. Failing that, Angela and Oreius could simply team up to outvote him on everything.

Thus, even before King Edmund decided he would return to Cair Paravel and rejoin his enchanting bride, that bride had called the tribunal chamber to order. The Gryphon who had lately transported the now-resting Tumnus acted as an advisor to the accused, explaining her rights to her. Zelzil, knowing she could not conceal her guilt in the physical act of slaying, felt she had nothing to lose by detailing for the tribunal every real, perceived or imaginary grievance she had had against her sister all their lives. This would be followed by testimony from Vesta and Snowpelt about their examination of on-scene evidence, then by such patchy testimony as other Satyrs could give about the relationship between Zelzil and Blinjarda.

By the time King Edmund returned, the preliminaries would be nearly over--if Dranvalan didn't stretch them out too long with his outbursts about Satyrs being untrustworthy.

"Um, She said, "Yes Ed is coming to Cair Paravail to handle the issue there as you join the rest of us."
