Rewind and replay

HERE IS HOW THINGS GOT STARTED FOR THE CRIMINAL CASE--WHEN THE QUEST PARTY HAD BARELY GOTTEN ON THE ROAD THE FIRST MORNING.

They were not even entirely out of sight of the castle when Horatius drew near to the horses and said to Edmund and the queens, "Your Majesties, I smell herbivore's blood from somewhere ahead; body scent with it suggests an antelope. Very fresh scent; could be still alive."

"_Wild_ antelope in Narnia usually range only in the southern grassy areas," remarked Edmund. "So what you smell may be a _Talking_ Antelope. Run ahead and investigate. If it is, or even _might_ be, a Talking Beast, you will render any aid you can while we catch up with you. If it's a dumb animal for _certain,_ give it as merciful an end as you can, and we'll have it for supper."

Horatius loped ahead to investigate. He had not covered half a mile before he had instant confirmation that the creature he smelled was indeed intelligent. The antelope was being dragged along on a large travois by four Satyrs; _their_ scent had been smothered by the rich blood-aroma. Another four Satyrs walked alongside--probably taking turns with the burden. Two of the unencumbered Satyrs brought spears nervously to the ready when they caught sight of the approaching predator; but Horatius hastily exclaimed, "TALKING Leopard! TALKING Leopard!"

Soon the four-footed soldier learned the meaning of this odd procession. The Talking Antelope, Dranvalan by name, had been wounded in one haunch with an arrow, evidently by some other Satyr besides these now helping him. The Satyrs helping him all felt that it must have been merely bad luck that their fellow Satyr mistook Dranvalan for a non-intelligent antelope. Dranvalan, however, insisted that the hunter had acted in deliberate malice with knowledge of what his target was. He had raised a ruckus demanding no less than a royal investigation of the "attempted murder."

===================

WHEN DRANVALAN HAD BEEN PLACED IN THE CARE OF CENTAURESS YEDULIA, PETER AND ANGELA TOOK CHARGE OF INVESTIGATING THE AREA WHERE LUCY'S PARTY HAD FOUND THE FRIENDLY SATYRS HELPING THE ANTELOPE...

Peter had considered making the men-at-arms go on foot at a forced march, to toughen them; but he decided that the exercise could wait. He wanted to reach the scene of the shooting while there was still enough daylight left for a thorough inspection of the area. So the men-at-arms rode. So, in fact, did the terrier, on the saddlebow of the soldier he was most friendly with. All horses involved, of course, were ones trained not to be afraid of the leopardess who was with them. While they went, Peter asked Grodlork to tell more about the personalities of the two Satyrs who were tentatively suspects; but nothing emerged from this which clearly pointed to either of those two having any particular motive to shoot any Talking Beast on purpose.

The fateful spot was in an area of mixed groves and meadows. The antelope had been in the open, but within a few yards of trees, when he had been wounded.

"Men-at-arms, fan out," Peter commanded. "Search the open ground for the discarded arrow, and for any obvious trail signs. Grodlork, Vesta and Angela, please mind the horses for the moment. Snowpelt--into the woods with me."

For the next ten or fifteen minutes, the High King and the white terrier combed back and forth among the trees. Then Snowpelt went on alert like a hunting hound. "Your Majesty, someone has died in this very stand of timber....died within this day....sire, a _Satyr_ has died....a female Satyr."

Less than a minute later, Snowpelt had led Peter to the unhappy proof of his accuracy. A female Satyr lay dead in the undergrowth, with an arrow stuck through her collarbone into her heart.

"Aslan receive her spirit," the High King sighed. Then: "Snowpelt, please run back to the others, tell the men-at-arms to regroup around the horses, and send Angela, Vesta and Grodlork to me. Then use your noble nose in the open area, in case other informative scents linger there also."

When the three called for joined Peter, he first asked Grodlork, "Do you know this Satyr-woman?"

Grodlork's first answer consisted of dropping to his knees weeping. "Blinjarda!" he howled. "A distant cousin of my own wife! Alas, what foul play was here?"

As the Satyr grieved (and it was perfectly genuine, as far as the others present could tell), Angela looked closely at the lethal arrow. "Peter, do you notice the angle at which that shaft is sticking in?"

"I do," her brother-in-law replied. "Assuming that Blinjarda was standing erect at the moment that arrow struck, it was shot by someone above her." Peter turned to the leopard. "Vesta, I want you to start climbing. Search the trees one by one for any sign that someone may have perched in one."

As Vesta complied, Angela raised a question to Grodlork: "Do your people commonly climb trees?"

Grodlork choked back his tears long enough to say: "Not often, my lady, but we are capable of doing so at need."

Peter leaned close to Angela. "This causes the shooting of Dranvalan to make _less_ sense. It was suggested that a hunter might have shot at game which was near, and hit the antelope with a missed shot. But if the archer who slew this poor Satyress was aloft in the branches, Dranvalan could not have been in the line of flight for arrows that were intended to hit someone where we're standing. Do you have any ideas?"

"Yes. It could be that the killer, while competent in plain straightforward archery, lacked experience in woodland stalking. Remember: both Satyrs and antelopes have CURVED HORNS. Perhaps the killer, intent on this victim, caught a fleeting glimpse through the trees of Dranvalan's horns, and shot in that direction in haste and excitement. When Dranvalan cried out in pain, Blinjarda would not have known the cause of that noise which was coming from the opposite direction to her enemy; so she would not have known to run for it...and when the killer saw his mistake, the next arrow found its unsuspecting intended target."

Minutes passed. While they waited for any findings by Vesta, Peter asked Grodlork the logical question, whether Blinjarda was known to have any enemies among Satyrs, or among other beings with whom the local Satyr population had regular dealings. Again, the answer was negative. "Grodlork," said Peter, "you may take the pony we've lent you, and go to fetch others of your people, so that your kinswoman may have a decent burial."

The sorrowing Grodlork had gone his way before Vesta finally had something to report. "Your Majesty! This oak, in which I'm now sitting, bears a trace of Satyr scent; also a hint of leather, which might bespeak a leathern quiver that held the slayer's arrows."

====================================

More details can be found on the pages after page 28. Scent-evidence proved the murderer to be Zelzil, the victim's own sister. When placed under arrest by leopardess Vesta and the terrier Snowpelt, Zelzil implied that Blinjarda had done something to deserve death, although no one seems to know what. If you are still up to playing Angela, you can invent for yourself what Blinjarda may have done to be so hated by her sister.

OOC: No telling what real-world events have detained Dayhawk; so...
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Horatius, on his own, had brought down a subadult buck, and was now dragging it to where he had last left Ralph. Ebony, meanwhile, had had her gallop, and Queen Lucy had shot a wild goose on the wing while galloping--a technique Susan had taught her. Ralph was already plucking the goose when Horatius came in sight; Lucy then told Ralph to attend to skinning and quartering the deer, while she gave Ebony one more turn around the pond where the geese had been.

As soon as a section of the venison carcass was separated for him, the leopard--who was VERY hungry by this time--fell to eating on the spot. He was still eating when Lucy and Ebony reappeared; and still eating moments later when a manly voice hailed them. King Peter had found them.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

OOC: If Dayhawk remains unavailable for much longer, I'll simply say that Peter told Lucy about the Ogre attack and they rejoined Susan and Aravis. That will bring us into later afternoon or even evening.

I have a suggestion. Powl can be Mrs. Edmund Pevensie (Angela Pevensie) and Josh can be Edmund now because I am not posting much. Maybe they both can carry the Cair Paravel scene better than I can.

I have a hard time coming back immediately and post, and when I come back, the story has already advanced and I have to play catch up and it's really stressing me.

Josh and Powl. If you both want you can be Edmund and Mrs. You are at Cair Paravel taking care of a murder trial while everyone else is on a quest to find the replacement for the Hermit of the Southern March.

OOC: As ever, it's feast or famine with posting! BarbarianKing got his shorter OOC in while I was still writing this one. B-King, I hate to see you leave! The rest here is as I already wrote.

Josh, the reason why the first page didn't tell, is because (at the risk of bragging) no one HAD provided any real plot until I, in the role of Peter, took some initiative. If I were making money from RP summaries, I'd have enough by now to pay all debts of everyone in my family. Once again:

The time is in the Adult-Pevensies Era of Narnia--probably no more than two or three years before they would return to Earth. One big "revision" has been incorporated: Edmund has a wife, Princess-Consort Angela. (It remains to be seen what is to become of her.) In the neighboring country of Archenland (completely unknown to anyone whose Narnia knowledge is limited to the movies), Cor (from the book "The Horse and His Boy") has inherited the throne, and is married to his leading lady Aravis. Also in Archenland, that kingdom's spiritual leader, "The Hermit," has been made aware by God/Aslan that he will die in less than a year. The Hermit, besides making this known to his own ruler, sent word to the good neighbors in the north.

While everyone else was merely chatting at random in the opening pages, I had Peter go to his office to get some actual work done. Thus Peter became the first Pevensie to receive the news about the Hermit. Aslan then spoke to Peter, telling him that "Adilia," one of the ladies-in-waiting for his sisters, was to play an important role in finding who was meant to be the NEXT hermit of Archenland. Edmund, Susan, Lucy, the visiting Aravis, and an assortment of employees and talking animals (Adilia among the group) set out to search blindly for clues to the Hermitage succession. Peter stayed at Cair Paravel because he and Oreius were awaiting the return of two talking eagles from an important mission. Angela stayed with her brother-in-law, because she had a premonition that she would be needed to help with royal business. Tumnus was sent flying on a Gryphon, to visit the not-yet-sick Hermit as Peter's representative.

Around the time the open-ended expedition got underway, it happened that a female Satyr in a semi-forested area not too far from the capital murdered her sister due to some old grudge or other. Peter and Angela, with the assistance of a talking dog and a talking leopardess, uncovered the murder. The culprit is about to stand trial.

Meanwhile, the main set of characters travelled as far as the equivalent of the Holiday Inn at the first freeway interchange: the Swerving Swan Inn. There they encountered clues to still another plot element: a talking weasel and two she-fauns are spreading sedition, making lying attacks on the character and morality of the High King. Two loyal talking animals are currently investigating THAT; and when King Cor gets together with Aravis and the others, he will be able to report that he also met with signs of this evil propaganda campaign.

Dayhawk, founder of this thread, is playing Lucy; as stated, I'm Peter; BarbarianKing is Edmund; KnightofNarnia has joined as King Cor; and it's a good question if ANYONE is playing the other characters. Powl is just now joining, taking over the vacated role of Angela.

Sorry. I found that I was not having fun anymore trying to catch up because the story was never where I left it.

Josh, if you do assume the role of Edmund, you'll have big shoes to fill.

You need to know that, although that propaganda campaign claims to be pacifistic, the five Ogres who just (unsuccessfully) attacked Peter and Edmund were being cheered on by some animals who had clearly been listening to the anti-human messages. The attack happened at a time when Peter and Edmund were undertaking to trade places: Edmund was going back to Cair Paravel so he could be with Angela, while Peter was riding west so he could be with Lucy. (It is my belief that, of the six relationships that are mathematically possible among four siblings, the relationship between Peter and Lucy is the warmest and closest. For me, it's much like the loving relationship I enjoy with my youngest sister.)

If this RP even manages to keep going (as I do hope it will), I think I'm going to start putting some review material into EVERY post I write.

My Lord Im gone for one day and so far Ed and his wife are bailing out.:( Lord have mercy! Im sick of character changes ppl! Either COMMIT or dont but plz make up your minds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*yes im po-ed!*

Sorry dayhawk! I did not mean to make you mad, but I really think that someone else could carry this better. I am not in the habit of starting something and not finishing, but with this RP I really can't do it. When I leave in the middle of some event or scene, and I don't come back in, say like 1 day, 12 hours, or even 3 hours, CF has already advanced the story and the plot so that when I come back, a lot has happened and I have a hard time getting back into character because of that. And right now there are dozens of small characters around that I am so confused and can't keep up with all the names and events. If I were to stay, people would still have to carry my character because I would have a hard time posting.

I will make it up to you somehow. I promise.

well, do what I do, read the posts that relate only to your character. I skip like 20 posts and just read mine. lol
Im not as mad as I was...but still I do feel like ppl are giving up on this rp.

Dayhawk, let me intercede for B-King

As a father, I understand the demands actual life makes on him. He did want to stick this out--he said he especially liked being my brother; but sometimes we overextend ourselves. And as long as I'm able to continue, there'll be coaching for the players, even new players. In proof of which, let me offer this to newbies and confused-be's alike:

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER!

ADILIA: Lady-in-waiting; can't remember her childhood, a handy plot device which could be made to serve diverse purposes. Aslan told King Peter that Adilia will play an important, albeit unspecified, role in finding the next Hermit of Archenland.

ANGELA: King Edmund's wife and "Princess-Consort." Origins unexplained by her original player, who vanished early. Takes interest in Edmund's judicial functions. Had a premonition at start of story that she was NOT supposed to go questing; thus ended up helping to solve the Satyr murder.

ARAVIS: Now Queen of Archenland. Was visiting her fellow Queens at start of roleplay, leaving husband Cor behind because he had government business at Anvard (and because until recently we had no one to play him). Joined the "searching in the dark" Hermit-quest.

BLINJARDA: Female Satyr--only seen as a corpse, murdered by her sister Zelzil.

CHADIXA and CHIKNALI: Two teenage She-Faun sisters, who are in rebellion against Aslan. The latter is currently not far from where King Cor is.

CHIPDOLLY: She-Beaver, daughter of THE Beavers from LWW. Helps run the castle kitchen.

COR: Now that he's able to get away, he's enroute to join Aravis. He moves so fast, he's about 13 hours farther ahead in time than any other player character.

DONALD THE DUCK: Talking Duck messenger, at whose hatching King Peter happened to be present. The event stirred a half-conscious memory in Peter's brain of seeing Walt Disney cartoons in England, so he persuaded the duck parents to name their new son Donald.

DRANVALAN: Talking Antelope. His being accidentally wounded outside the Satyr village that is not far from Cair Paravel indirectly caused the nearby murder of Blinjarda to be discovered before the culprit could hide the body. Just got appointed to murder-indictment tribunal, partly to shut up his constant complaining.

EBONY: Lucy's Talking Mare, also somewhat given to complaining and arguing.

EDMUND: Originally was with the Hermit quest. On the second day (as the characters experience time), when he learned that Peter would be coming out west after all, he grabbed the chance to switch places, so he could get back to Angela and, er, um, shake hands with her vigorously. As he met Peter coming the other way, they were unsuccessfully attacked by Ogres who had some connection with the anti-human protest movement--even though that movement claims to be pacifistic.

ELENA: Lady-in-waiting. Does spying and sneaking for Queen Lucy. By means which Dayhawk has not explained, Elena found out a clue, that the destined successor to Archenland's Hermit must obtain some treasure that rightfully belongs at Hermit Central.

GRODLORK: Elder at the Satyr village, helped the injured-antelope investigation.

HERMIT, THE: Was warned by Aslan/God that, though not sick yet, he will die in less than a year. He has seen in his gazing-pool that the person meant to be his successor will seem unsuitable at first.

HORATIUS: The oldest Talking Leopard still on active duty at Cair Paravel; he was at the Battle of Beruna, charging beside the Centaurs. Now part of the expedition. On the second day of the roleplay, he was very patient about waiting for the chance to hunt up some meat for himself to eat.

KAYELEIGH: The most openly martial of the ladies-in-waiting, zealous to guard Queen Lucy. Being played by Copperfox, who was forced thus to show his feminine side by Katherine-J-C's departure.

KREECHIKEE: Female Talking Mouse, and a castle secretary. She is currently investigating a movement of sedition which aims to defame and discredit humans, especially Peter. An ape named Shangpo is assisting her.

LUCY: Portrayed by Dayhawk. Dayhawk decided that she and I did well enough at dialogue exchanges that she wanted such exchanges to be able to continue even at a distance. Therefore she got the idea of Lucy and Peter possessing a sort of magical pair of cellphones which link their souls, enabling communication. Lucy went along on Horatius' hunting foray, largely because Ebony wanted to.

NEDWAL: Talking Weasel. SEEMS to be the brains behind the slandering of King Peter; those Faun sisters are his henchgirls. Boasts that he has supposedly made Peter back down before him; actually has never met Peter.

OREIUS: Will be sitting on the murder-indictment tribunal with Angela...and Dranvalan!

PETER: Provided some plot to take the RP beyond Hi-how-are-you's. Was first to learn that the Hermit of Archenland had a one-way flight reservation for Aslan's Country. Aslan then told Peter the part about Adilia. Peter suspects that Adilia herself may turn out to be the next Hermit. One reason he did not set out on the quest at first is that he was hoping first to hear back from two eagles who were scouting the far western wilderness beyond the Narnian borders (roughly in the direction of where Digory and Polly were sent in "The Magician's Nephew"). But when Lucy let him know she had a foreboding of trouble (and the emerging treason campaign seems to have been that trouble), Peter offered to come out and join her.

RALPH: Thirteen-year-old human page. Horatius has taken this boy under his wing.

REDCLAW: A Talking Cougar living near the Archenlandish border. Farther ahead in time than the majority of characters, he meets King Cor coming into Narnia, and warns Cor about the sedition campaign.

SHANGPO: The first Talking Orangutan to return to Narnia from warmer climes, years after Jadis was sent to the hottest of all climes. He was first encountered as an employee at the Swerving Swan Inn.

SNOWPELT: Talking Westie Terrier. His keen nose made the final identification on Zelzil, the Satyr murderess.

SUSAN: Presumed to be with the main body of questing persons, but no one is making her say anything.

TUMNUS: Played by Loverble. Went to Archenland as an emissary to pay Peter's respects to the Hermit; this was how the word got to Narnia that the new Hermit would seem unfit at first. Enroute back to Narnia, Tumnus beheld something suspicious; but the epidemic of absences has up to now prevented him from TELLING either Edmund or Angela WHAT he saw.

VESTA: Leopardess, niece to Horatius. Made the arrest in the Zelzil case.

YEDULIA: Centauress, daughter of Oreius. Doing rehab on the lamed antelope.

Okay: henceforth, remember Post #533!

Now, since Dayhawk appeared but posted nothing in character, I'm assuming she had no particular actions in mind for the time of Peter joining the group. Therefore, let's bring the main event-stream nearer to catching up with Cor, who is already existing on the third day. What I now post begins right after Peter located Lucy, and encompasses the evening of the second day.

================================

Peter told Lucy about the attack by the Ogres, and how Aslan had undertaken to undeceive the animals who had been cheering on the Ogres. Everyone soon made camp and had supper.

Since Queen Susan and Queen Aravis had done practically nothing all day, they volunteered to stay up and watch for the first two hours of the night. (No one in the party would have thought of needing sentries, if not for the assault on the Kings.) They would be followed by Kayeleigh and Horatius, then by Peter and Ralph.

The time he was allotted for sleep was enough to plunge the High King into a dramatic dream. Living in Narnia had given Peter many a supernatural subject for dreams, since the supernatural was routine here. But on this night his dream was not particularly magical in setting, yet was _more_ bizarre than any he could remember having recently.

He saw a lovely lady, not identical with any he knew in reality, but seeming eminently desirable. She was smiling at the first glance; but when he stepped toward her and would have introduced himself, she suddenly scowled and said, "I'd rather swallow crushed glass than have _anything_ to do with you!" Then she turned and slipped out of sight in a fog that smelled of perfume.

A moment later he saw another unfamiliar but gorgeous young woman; her behavior proved to be identical to that of the first, except that what she preferred over Peter's company was being thrown into the ocean with an anvil tied to her. Two others followed: one preferring to be skinned alive, then one preferring to be roasted over coals.

Next, a fifth woman's voice called his name. This voice was not that of his sister Lucy, but it had a similar kind of cheerfulness to hers. Turning toward the sound, Peter saw the fifth unfamiliar beauty running toward him from a distance, shouting, "I love you, Peter! I want to marry you! Never leave me, Peter! I adore you, I want you, I need you, I'm a perfect match for you, I was made for you, I can't live without you!" This much avowal of love brought her up almost within embracing range...but with the last word, she slammed to a halt. The passionately inviting smile on her face vanished just as rapidly, to be replaced by a bored look. In an apathetically annoyed tone, she muttered, "Why are you bothering me? Go away."

Up to now, Peter himself had not said a word in this dream. Now, though, he said, "I think this is worse than simply being ignored." Then he walked awhile, through an extremely vague, unfocussed landscape.

In front of him appeared something like a cloth-covered table. On it a sixth unknown woman was lying at ease, gazing at him. She said nothing, but the smile on her face did not vanish at his approach, and looked more sincere than the others. When he was within a few paces of her, he saw that in one hand she held some kind of jar. From this jar she poured some thick amber fluid over herself, head to feet; the jar did not go empty until she was so thoroughly covered that it seemed a marvel she didn't suffocate.

"Is that honey?" he asked her, dumbfounded. "Why are you doing this?"

"To be different," she said in a mellow voice. "There had to be at least one who was different. And yes, it's honey: the best you'll ever taste. You do want to take a taste, don't you?"

Before Peter could reply, though, something jolted him out of his dream.

Since Dayhawk looked here but still posted nothing--

It was Ralph, himself awakened by Kayeleigh, who awakened Peter for the final sentry shift. The High King and the page were thus the first ones to see Shangpo and Kreechikee returning.

The Orangutan and the She-Mouse brought with them a description of the rabble-rousing puppet play, along with names of several dozen Talking Beasts who would bear investigating. Peter sighed. "I wouldn't bother breathing down their necks merely for not liking me; but I'm afraid it's been pretty well demonstrated that they have some ties with creatures who go beyond emotional dislike." The Orangutan was given royal thanks and quite a few gold pieces, then allowed to start back for the Swerving Swan.

Sunrise and breakfast were followed by a distant quacking...which heralded the approach of Donald the Duck. Donald brought news that King Cor had been able to get away from his duties at Anvard, and was on his way to join the party. Donald soon had his next assigment: to play carrier pigeon, taking a summary of Kreechikee's information to Edmund and Oreius.

=============================

There, it's now the THIRD day; that brings us ALMOST up even in time with the post KnightofNarnia wrote about Cor and Windchaser meeting a deceived flock of sheep in a mountain pass.

OCC : hey, dayhawk, I'm sorry Mrs Pevenie left, I'll try my best to make the story of Angela, and to not disapoint you :o

-----------------------------------------

At Cair Paravel, everyone was worried, and anxious to know what was the reason if this murderer, or maybe accident

"I still don't understand, why someone would kill this poor Satyress ... What could have she done to deserve an awful death ... Please Aslan receive her ... :("said Angela

She didn't like blood, and violence, just like Queen Susan, but when she had to fight, she did it, without any doubt, to protect Narnia, the land of her beloved husband.
She knew how to ride, obviously, she could fight with a sword, and wasn't a bad archer ...

That's good for starters, Powl

"Who knows _what_ savagery Satyrs are capable of?" grunted the lame antelope Dranvalan in reply to Angela's words. The three tribunal members were discussing the testimony given so far, while King Edmund--before whom the trial would be brought to its verdict, _his_ verdict actually--listened without saying much.

"According to Zelzil herself," Oreius recapped, "her sister Blinjarda used to bully her when they were small; and when Zelzil grew big enough that Blinjarda no longer had any physical advantage, Blinjarda still found ways to make Zelzil's life unpleasant. We have only Zelzil's word on this, though; no other Satyr seems to have noticed Blinjarda being so horrid to Zelzil. This could mean that Blinjarda was good at covering it up--or it could mean that Zelzil now is _making_ it up."

"Maybe we should ask, you know people who knew the two sister since they were little ..." said Angela to her dear Husband
"What do you think about that, so we could find some clue that would proove or not that Zelzil had something against her sister ...

Since Josh is nowhere in sight--

--I must ask his pardon if I put one line in Edmund's mouth myself, so things don't get stalled. Note that there is no need to prove that Zelzil DID kill Blinjarda; she admits to it. The question is whether there are any circumstances which lessen Zelzil's guilt.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

"You're right, sweetheart," said Edmund, kissing her. "All the birds whom Aslan sent back from escorting my brother can be sent out again: this time to overtake the same heralds who are already out spreading the word about the matter of the Hermit of Archenland, and to give those heralds our order to seek out witnesses from the other Satyr communities. I will ask you to compose that order, my love, while I review the physical evidence in the case with Vesta."

OCC/ do you think they used the word "sweetheart" ?? because it sounded creepy, and I'd prefere if you didn't use it, thanks ...

........................................

"Well, I hope we'll figure out what truly happened ... How awful..."she said, and a tear fell on her beautiful brown dress.
