Same here, I always find something funny in each episode. But beside humor, which it is enriched with, their are many moral lessons in the Cosby Show. Lessons about family, about friends, and about doing what's right. :)

Exactly! And there was almost nothing bad in them...no cuss words (that I remember) or anything. :)

I think Cosby said the S word.. "Shut up!" :D No there Isn't any profanity or vanity in the Cosby Show. If ever something brought up.. like drugs or something It's always because they are trying to teach that you shouldn't do them or that you should act responsible.

Great show! :D I haven't seen every episode, which still makes it fun to watch (might be a show I haven't seen). But yeah, Aravis, I know what you mean about Cosby himself. Did you see his interview with... (I think it was) Larry King? He was promoting a book he wrote about how black stereotyping isn't wrongly promoted because it's true, and how blacks can change that outlook.

That's more or less why I don't like it...

Family matters though, didn't seem to be too politically correct.

And as for the episodes, only the older ones are any good. I HATE the older Denise, her husband-whatever-his-name, Pam and Olivia. Olivia just was a whiny brat that was annoying...not to mention I can't stand Symone.

The show itself was very politically correct. Especially the later episodes.

I liked it growing up, but more recently I could really care less if it's on or not. I prefer Urkel to Cosby.

I personally can't stand many actors or actresses either but if I like a movie I won't judge their performance mainly because of what they think or do. Exceptions there of course.

Nah, being politically correct doesn't make everything bad. I mean... the movie "Hook" was probably trying in some way to be politically correct with all the different ethnic groups presented in the lost boys, but I still thought it was a great movie. :D

I agree, I don't like Ian Mckellen's politcal and ethnic beliefs, but I think he was brillant Gandalf. Same goes for Cosby, although I haven't kept up with his politcal life, but I do know he is great voice when it comes to parenting. :)

Exactly! Everybody knows what a jerk Tom Cruise is but I thought he did a great job in War of the worlds. I personally liked that movie even though many don't. I also liked Bill Cosby because of what he did to the Cosby show. His politics are left outside. If you want to have a person who never did soemthing "wrong" you better stop watching movies and read books. Oh no...don't...because writers also can get in the spotlights in a negative way  You see what I mean? It's useless. There is always something to say about someone.

I agree^
Nobody is going to perfectly match my beliefs but I have a core set of values that singers/actors must have. For example,I will never like an actor/singer who has commited murder (like the lead of the sex pistols.) or who is *what we're not allowed to talk about*.Other than that, everyone is human, and make mistakes.
But I go by the on-screen personality rather than the actor themselves.;)
If I went by the actor's lives,I'd have to throw out half my dvd collection.:p

Actually, in the very first episode of the entire series, Cosby actually did say the d-word once. That's all the profanity I ever heard, though. And that was one of the reasons it was such a great show.

Anyway, I love this show! It was one of the last shows with Andy Griffith values sitcoms.

I looooooooooooooooooove this show.
I've been watching it ever since I was 5 years old!!! I loved it right from the start. It's hilarious, and Bill Cosby did great as a father in it. :p

Lol Well usually the first episode or pilote episode isn't quite like the rest of the series. It's treaser and they tend to tweak the series after.

I agree The Cosby Show seems to have been one of last sitcoms with values like the Andy Griffin Show and many other classics.

There were a lot of good shows made during those days. I also loved ALF. As far as I remember it never used bad language as well. Neither did Family Ties. But this is about the Cosby show :p I remember the first day it was on tv.

I think there IS vanity in Cosby Show. Just look at Vanessa.

If I had to say I have an episode that I'd watch now, it'd be the goldfish episode. I think it was the 2nd episode of the series. When Rudy was cute!

Bill Cosby based the show on his own family. The only member of the cast who had some problems in the past was Lisa Bonet (Denise)
Vanessa was just a teenage girl who went through all teenage stuff. She felt in love, yes, she wanted to be attractive to the guys but not in a bad or unhealthy way.
