The Riddler had watched as the clock had tolled 11, and one of the last two strands of rope had been cut. Now, he watched as the clock continued on its axis, slowly ticking toward the mayor's doom. He looked out the window and smiled kindly at the dangling mayor. "Well, we won't be hanging out much longer," he said with a cackle. He pondered leaving another clue, and glanced at the phone. Grinning, he called Gordon.
"Two, ten, Big Ben,
Not much longer till the mayor meets his end!"
After that, he hung up the phone, and began to twiddle his thumbs.

"Two, ten, Big Ben,
Not much longer ," comisoner Gordon muttered to himself, tryping to piece together teh clue.
"Big Ben... CLock Tower."
Gordon hit the redial number on his other phone and caleld Batman," The Robert Kahn Memorial Clock Tower! That's where he is."
Gordon hung up the phone and hurried out fo his office.
"Bullock, Montoya, get a move on," he said. " We have to save the mayor."

Batman looked at the giant clocktower down the street. He saw the mayor hanging from it on a rope!

The minute hand lined up with the hour hand at the twelve. IT started ringing.

BONG!

Bruce raced towards it.

BONG.

"HELP!!! HELP!" Mayor Robbert screamed

BONG!

BONG!

"SOMEBODY HELP! PLEASE I'LL DIE!"

BONG!

BONG!

His Batobile reached the side of the building. He quickly got out.

BONG!

"PLEASE HELP ME!!! HELP ME!" the mayor cried. tears coming out of his eyes.
BONG!

He pulled out a grappling hook and aimed for the roof so he could propel himself upward.

BONG!
He missed it just by a few inches

"PLEASE!!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

BONG!

He shot another hook and it stuck in the stone roof.

BONG!

QUickly he started zipping upwards.

BONG!!!

The rope was cut, and the mayor fell down.

"AAAAAHHHH!!" he screamed. Batman grabbed the mayor as he fell with his left hand. "AAAAHHH-"

Bruce lowered himself to the ground. The mayor was dead. The sudden stop from the fall snapped his neck.

The Riddler watched out the window as the Mayor fell. Suddenly, the dark shadow of the Batman appeared, catching the mayor's body, but the shock if it had killed him. "Time for me to go!" the Riddler muttered to himself. And he quickly disappeared into the night.

"NOOO!" Bruce screamed as the mayor died.

Several civillains swarmed around him. "HEY! Batman just killed the mayor!" they said when they saw his body in his arms.

The call came into Gordon while he and Bullock were driving down to the clock tower. Sirens were blaring as they raced to the scene. The dispather had told Gordon that the caller insisted on being put in to Gordon.

"Batman did... WHAT?" asked Gordon.

"The Mayor is dead,"said the caller. " Batman killed him.

"Well... thank you, Mr..."

"Nashton," said the caller. " Edward Nashton."

Gordon sigehd as he hung up the phone. He had hoped that this was just an impersonator posing as Batman. He hoped that Batman hadn't really killed the mayor. If he did, Gordon would have no choice but to bring Batman in. He couldn't look the other way. He had a job to do.

Batman jumped into his Batmobile and raced away.

Carl walked in on Black Mask.

"Don't you knock?" the Black Mask grumbled.

"Sir, news has it the the mayor was just killed!"

Black Mask widened his eyes. "Oh really? By who?"

"Batman."

Black Masked laughed. "I don't believe it. But if it is true, I was right. He is becoming more like us. I wonder..."

Alfred turned on the news as he cleaned Bruce's study. They were talking about how Batman had killed the mayor. "Oh dear." Alfred said.

"Jim, we have five or six witnisses that all testify ..."

"I know, Montoya, 'said Gordon. " I know."

Gordon and the other members of the GCPD had already roped off the area around the clock tower. The Phorensic investgators were on teh scene. The body of the mayor was covered placed in a body bad and put on a gurney. Photographers, both with the police and the papers were taking photos.

"Commisioner Gordon, one question!" a reporter shouted. "I'm with the Gotham Globe!"

"Gotham Gazzette, Commisoner Gordon, is it true that..."

"Daily Planet Gotham City Beureue, Commisioner Gordon..."

Godon went back into the squad car and rubbed his brow. He did not want to answer any questions any more then he didn't want to believe that this was happening. Batman couldn't have killed the mayor.

Lucius piled his paperwork neatly and laid it down on the desk. Suddenly, something in the news caught his attention and turned up the volume of the television.
"The mayor was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead upon entrance... all at the hands of Batman. No one knows why the MAyor was at the clocktower or why Batman was there. Our news team was present at the site, but Commissioner Gordon refused comment..."
Lucius frowned deeply, taking off his glasses to massage his temples. This was not going to bode well for anyone.

Batman just stood on top of a tower looking below the city. "Everyone thinks I'm a murderer. How can I fight evil, when evil is what everyone thinks me to be?"

"I better get back to the party."

Bruce arrived back in his mansion, still unsure what to say over what happend to the mayor. He decided to get back to Selina.

"Sorry, one of the guests was drunk and he uh needed attention. I had to suprivise the escort to the hostipal."

ooc: worst excuse in history.
