Acela finished the making the medicine and walked intot he room, she gave the bowl to Leila, "Feel Better, Lord Aasen,"she told him, then left to give them their privacy.
"Thankyou Acela," he said as he sipped the bowl.
A long moment of silence fell between Leila and Aasen, then finally Leila spoke.
"Congratulations," she said, "you made the girl come undone."
"Pardon?"
"Its a saying in my land when a guy wins the affections of a difficult woman."
"I have your affections?" he chuckled then winced as it pained him.
Leila sighed as she continued to rub his neck, "most of them, but there are some you have yet to win."
"How can I acomplish that?"
"God question, I'll let you know when I figure it out."
Lord Aasen smiled and then changed the subject.
"Where's Destiny?"
Her name was like a hot iron on her flesh. Leila pursed her lips and answered.
"Her and Arcturus havn't been back from the beach."
"I hope she's ok..."
"Why did you get in the way?" Leila suddenly snapped, "what were you thinking?"
"I didn't want you to to have to regret anything. You seemed dead set on killing her. You eyes were..."
"Black. I know. And I was. I truely was."
Silence came back and seemed to fog up the room.
