"Fine." said the dragoness, "Come Aliee."
"No."
Alaya turned, "What did you just say?"
Her daughter looked up at her in defiance, "I'm going to help Mozart and her Catlition, whether you do or not!"
Alaya growled dangerously everyone waited tensly to see if things would go ill, the boys drew their swords, Dorthy took out her bow.
Mozart looked this way and that from each side to the other, "No, NO! Stop! Put away your weapons! Alaya leave Aliee alone! Everybody stop!"
No one moved.

Smokey looked at Alaya and thought to herself 'She look like she coul' melt Mozart right dere and den with her eyes! I gotta help.' so the little gray kitten plucked up all her courage and called out, "Youse all heard Mozart, put your weapons away! Ands Alaya iffin you're not gonna help then go someplace else where we won't bother you!"

Mozart felt proud of both Smokey and little Aliee but she knew things could still go badly so she waited tensely to see how Alaya would reply.
Alaya glared at them for several anxious moments then walked away stormily.

Later though the dragoness reappeared.(sp?!? the dictionary wouldn't tell me how to spell it ) She shook her head at Mozart, "Well get out of the way so I can clear the entrance you imps!" she called. Quickly they scurried down, wondering at her change. Only Silver saw her eyes though; they held a change in them that she knew could only be caused by one creature; the White Cat.

The great dragoness took several steps backwards then charged forward, her head down and her eyes shut. At the last moment when it looked like she'd hit the enormus pile she rose into the air flipped on her back and hit the rubble with her hind-legs. If you've ever run through a pile of snow then you'll know a little of what it looked like; stones and even boulders flew into the air hitting the walls dust flew into the kittens and Aliee's eyes,
But then, oh then, to the delight of the travelers they saw sunlight flooding through the cave mouth and lighting everything up.
Amazingly no one was injured from the flying rocks and they all walked out onto the soft grass outside Dark Tunnel.

Dorthy was the first to turn back to the dragons.
"I'm sorry," said the kitten, "I-I never really trusted either of you." she bowed her head.
"That is not your fault," replied Alaya, "I gave none of you an reason to trust me, and if anyone should say sorry it is me; I am sorry."
"Ya you don't need ta say sorry Dortee, its O.K." Aliee smiled like any little one would as she said this.
Mozart smiled, "On behalf of all my Catlition I thank you Alaya and Aliee the last great dragons and I pray that the White Cat would look after you both."
Alaya looked slightly troubled, "I did not remeber it for a long time but when you say "Catlition" it reminds me of four little cats that once came into my tunnels. They were lost and very scared of me, I intended to eat them but they ran into the tunnels I could not fit into (I was younger then and it was years before Aliee was born) and they ran across the deep river where I do not go beyond. They were also called a Catlition."

Suddenly Caspian laughed, "Hahaha you don't think do you?"
"It cowdn't be..." began Shadow.
"I'm sure it was!" cried Mozart laughing.
"Oh, oh can you imagine Dora running from Alaya, her fur ruffled and her eyes all big and her all dirty?" Dorthy giggled.
"I see what I have said is somehow amusing to you." said Alaya, "Do you know this Catlition?"
"Ya, dey our old friends." Smokey said, "Our Catlition is the LFF Catlition you see so dey are the Catlition."
"Ah and so you imagine your elders running for me and it is amusing to you?"
"Basicly."

Suddenly it occured to Mozart that Jak or even part of Catlition might be following them and she told this to Alaya, "And if you could leave them a message if you see them?"
"'Course we could, wight mama?" said Aliee.
"Yes, of course." Alaya replied.
"Ok, tell them that Mozart gives them greeting and that she and her Catlition are still in pursuit of the captors of Fireheart, Tansy, Creamy, Jako and Pumpkin."
"Alright, and one last thing Mozart; if you continue to go this way you will eventually run into a swamp, if you go around it it is much faster. Head south."
"I'll remeber that, thanks Alaya, for everything!"

Then the dragons and the kittens bid one another farewell and went their seperate ways.

I hope Alaya and Aliee will be in the story more; I like them.

Well Alaya will probably be in the 3rd book Catlition because it recounts the adventures of Ribbony and his original Catlition. And they'll both be in The Greatest Battle which is the 4th book and they may possible play a substantial part in Fire Kitten yet.;)

So this is not the end of Alaya and Aliee's part in these stories.:D

Two days later Ribbony and Frodo were found by Aliee who took them to her mother. Instantly Ribbony recognized Alaya and never fully trusted her even after he was given Mozart’s message and shown the way out with no “incidents”. Frodo on the other paw became very fond of both dragons, especially Aliee and always trusted them afterwards… even to a dangerous extent.

Chapter twenty
Sinking Swamp

Now Claw had forgotten one stop on his route and so walked right into it.

It was Sinking Swamp. (Or so it had been named by Ribbony and his Catlition)

The swamp was deceptive and in a way more dangerous than Claw or Cogg had ever been. This may have been because it was created by the Deathtrap; you see Deathtrap river flows in a long wide loop after it exits Dark Tunnel and flows into a fielded area. Because of beavers that once lived there though the river had been dammed and made into swampland. The reason it was called Sinking Swamp (in most places it was more of a Bog though) was because where the ground would look solid it normally sank instead. The reason it was dangerous was because it kept sinking if there was enough weight on it (meaning a pound or more would make it sink) and eventually you would be completely sucked into its deep dark loathsome depths.

mhm.................

"Arg! Curse this crater of swamps and bogs! This Sinking Swamp!" growled Claw, he spat on the ground nearby in disgust, "Alright I don't want anyone gettin' ahead o' me, except the slaves. They're gonna go in front so if anyone springs the traps this place has to offer it'll be them."
Fire did not at all like the arrangement but she said nothing, least she get them in worse trouble.

Hope though spoke up, "But mister Claw, iffin you put us ahead, well we're all chained togeter an' we'd all sink togeter too." she had gathered the sinking part from the name of the place.
"Alright, then you're goin' first! Unshackle 'er boys!" laughed Claw cruelly.

Hope's chains were taken off from her paws and she was pushed to the front of the group with much jeering and laughter from Claw's rabble.

Cliffhangers rock.

Hope winked at Fire and her siblings as she went past them, “Don’t worry about me kits; I’m smarter than they think!” she whispered to them.
“Shady!” called Claw.
“Yessir?”
“Keep behind the scoundrel and make sure she stays movin’”
“Yessir.”
Shady took her place behind Hope and wondered, ‘Why does he always choose me? I had to trip Frodo too and now I gotta drive Hope? Does he know I’m friends with Fire and friendly wit the rest?’ but she had no time to ponder this, for Claw yelled from just behind her, “Git moving!” she cracked her whip as Hope and said “Youse heard, git on!”

So Hope was made to walk in front of the group, dodging sinkholes and quick-ground (like quicksand only it looked like solid ground) and other disgusting, smelly pits.
“Smells like rotton apples after they been squished.” muttered Creamy.
“Smells like dat broccoli an’ meat soup we had one time dat went bad.” Nodded Jako.
“Smells like rotton eggs.” Said Pumpkin, and she was the most accurate.
“Whatever it smells like it stinks!” squeaked Tansy.
Fire said nothing.

Ribbony or Mozart could’ve told them what the smell really was, or (sadly) even Frodo their big brother. It was the smell of death, and why? Alaya could have told them that part of the story.

You see a very long time ago (before Ribbony and his siblings were born and even before Missy was born) some lizards that we would call crocodiles and alligators came to inhabit that swamp and ever since they had been catching unsuspecting travelers to play with, kill and then eat. So the stench of death had grown and grown for years and years and never diminished. Even then as the small army of Claw and the slaves went through they watched; waiting for them to stop or for one to lag behind.
Hope saw them; they’re little beady eyes watching her and waiting for her. She shuddered.
Then suddenly Hope heard a scream from behind her; she whipped around to see Shady had fallen into a pit and was floundering. The creatures of the swamp moved in.

GAH! You always tell me to read your story when it ends in a cliffy!!!!!!!!! MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, I totally adore Aliee.

Thats so you'll keep reading...... are you hooked?:p
Maybe I shouldn't have added the dragons; everyone seems to like Aliee more than the main kitten charies!:p

heres more;

Claw did not seem concerned at Shady's plight. However he did seem concerned about the swamp-creatures and therefore took some action.
"Get those monsters you lazy lumps! Git movin' yew wimps!" he grabbed a whip and cracked it at the terrified army (if it could be called that). Caught between the rage of their ruthless leader and the terrors of the swamp they did the only sensible thing; they ran. The group did not heed the swamp-pits or anything in their path but ran like was unnatural for most beasts even in great fright.
"Get back here you scum!" growled Claw running after them.

Since the slaves had been taken with the rabble Hope, Shady and the swamp-creatures were the only ones left. Shady was sinking further into the swamp and wimpering and the crocodiles and aligators were trying to surround her (some had followed Claw's group) and kept snapping at her with their terrible teeth which were as deadly as Claw's claws.

Hope gave a whoop and called, "I'm cummin Shady, hang on!" she looked around her and saw a nice sized stick. She ran and picked it up then hurried to Shady's aid.

Not me, Mozart and Caspian are still my favorites.:p

This. Is. Not. Good.

Well the 1st part of the quote is good.:p

"Get 'way from her yew stinkin' I dunno whats!" cried Hope as she whacked one on the head with her stick. It turned around and snapped at her but she leapt on it's head, forcing it to close it's mouth.
She would have to watch for the creature's tails for it one hit her (or Shady) it could kill them.
'Wait thats it! Bravey said once that he heard the elders tellin' a story about a cat who tangled up a mass of snakes by running around in 'em and confusin' 'em!' so the little she-cat gathered all her courage and popped down in front of the crocodile she had been on.

"Hey lookit me you slimy lizard! Ya yew! Catch me iffin ya can!" then she took off running into the mass of creatures. They tried to follow her and most ended up on top of each other, still biting at Hope as she dashed past them.

Eventually all the deadly swamp crocs and gators were tied up (as Ribbony would say) and reandered harmless by Hope. She went over to where Shady was desperatly floundering.
"Here grab my stick!" Hope said, Shady latched on and clung to the stick like a leech till Hope had her out.

When Hope had pulled Shady out she surveyed her surroundings. She could tell by the trampled saw grass where the group had gone so it would be no problem finding them, 'Not like I wanna stay here and Claw 's the only one who knows the way out.' she thought.
But her train of thought was rudely broken by a scream, Shady's scream. Hope whipped around just in time for a large claw to come down on her face, scratching her eye. She stuck out at the thing with her stick and felt it hit something. Then she heard a screach and opened her un-hurt eye to see what it was.

It was a hawk, a huge black hawk, larger than any where we live. It had been hoping to catch a few kits for its dinner but Shady had seen it so the worst hurt was Hope's eye which was permenatly damaged (unless of course Mozart could heal it with her cordial).

When she had recovered a bit Hope said, "Well no good standin' her, c'mon Shady lets get a move on. Er, you'll have to help me some I'm blind in one eye now methinks.

And so they started along the trail made by the rest of the group.
