The Legend of King Arthur

OCC: I'm finally here! Phew! This is probably going to be a pretty "icky" post :p:o:(

IC: Farther in the back of the crowd King Leodegrace with his daughter were observing the pulling of the sword.

They both joined in to hailing the new King.

The Cornishmen, led by Prince Mark, also sided with Arthur. But the Welshmen under King Rhiance did not pledge loyalty.

After Arthur pulled the sword from the stone a second time, Sir Ector got down on one knee, and so did Sir Kay.

At that moment, many other Knights approached, and all begin to yell.

"HAIL KING ARTHUR! LONG LIVE THE KING"

The townspeople all join the chorus:

"Father," say Arthur and walks towards Sir Ector.

"No," says Sir Ector, "I am not your father."

"What do you mean Sir?"

"You are not my son, born of my blood."

Arthur is in shock. Tears begin to run down his cheeks. "But, Father."

Sir Ector does not know really who are Arthur's parents, and he appealed to Merlin. Merlin whispers something to Sir Ector. Then, Sir Ector turns to Arthur.

"Now I know who you are," Sir Ector says. "You are the son King Uther spoke about when I knelt to him a long time ago before his death. You are the son of King Uther and Queen Ygerna."

The crowd and all the knights fell silent.

Here Merlin stepped in. "For those to whom ancestry is all, Arthur is the true heir of Uther. For those to whom right and wrong actually mean something, Arthur is one who has been taught to uphold the right and oppose the wrong."

************SIX YEARS LATER**************

Arthur is at holding court at Camelot. Sir Kay, his most loyal knight is at his side.

ooc: Arthur is now 18 or 19, around that. I want him to be of marrying age cause of Guinevere, LOL ;) Morgan is at least one or two years older.

(ooc okkkkk so Morgan will be like 23 then...ok...)

Morgan Le Fae walked into the hall. Her long silky peach dress flowed off her shoulders and onto the floor. She wore her long auburn hair down with a crown of pearls around her head. She eyed many people, but none were her friends. Having only been able to travel out of Avalon two years prior, not many knew her, and most feared her. She kept her green and violet eyes on the king.

(ooc do they know they're related yet?)

Kay, over the past years, had proven himself a true warrior, doing good service in the first battles to secure his foster-brother's throne. But now he was finding more satisfaction in his position as royal seneschal, helping to oversee and record the King's financial dealings. As he was presenting Arthur with a report on the royal iron and copper mines, Merlin came in--but courteously waited for Kay to reach a stopping place.

"Your Majesty," said the wizard, "I have seen grim doings a mere four days in the future. Your faithful supporter, King Leodegrance, is going to come under attack by King Lot and King Uriens. And because Lot and Uriens remain stubborn against Your Majesty, the Saxons are emboldened to try their luck again. Only two days after the assault on Leodegrance, there will be a Saxon landing on the east coast. With Your Majesty's permission, I will go to the point which the Saxons will attack, to prepare delaying measures, so that you will have time to help Leodegrance first and still foil the Saxons also."

(ooc: Kim, I believe Morgan knows, but not Arthur)

IC:
"It will be done as you say so Merlin, thank you. And yes, I will prepare and assemble a group to go with me to the aid of King Leodegrance. I don't see why we cannot defeat both, Lot and his allies, and the Saxons."

So he is my brother.

She looked Arthur up and down, trying to decide what she thought of him. He looked, at least to her, nothing like their mother. Nothing like her people. Nonetheless, she decided to make herself known, but not really as his sister. More of a supporter of Merlin.

"Hello Merlin," she said, wondering if he knew anything about her. How much did Morgause talk about her when she was out of Avalon?

OOC: Some versions have Guinevere ten years younger than Arthur, but it wouldn't do for her to be eight years old now! Meanwhile, my next action picks up on Kim's post. Merlin _would _know these things; he is Merlin, after all.

Turning from his conference with Arthur, Merlin saw Morgan--and knew exactly who and what she was. To Arthur he said, "Behold, Your Majesty, a kinswoman visits you. Be watchful; but do not fear." More loudly, for Morgan in particular to hear, he added, "After all, Your Majesty, the Power looking after you is mightier than any other. I go now on my mission, which cannot wait even for so lovely and prestigious a visitor."

As he walked past Morgan, Merlin bowed to her, saying, "No harm to you if no harm you intend. You are not to blame for evil done by a past generation. Though I must leave, I _will_ see from afar exactly what passes in this hall."

EDIT: Overlapping posts strike again! Try to think of this post as kind of interweaving with Kim's latest--I began writing it while only one Morgan post was up. Merlin _will_ know everything about Morgan, but it is for Kim to decide much of what IS the "everything" FOR Merlin to know.

Morgan bowed her head and gazed into his eyes before he left, as if to deepen her knowledge him, "Goddess Bless," she said and turned to Arthur. "Good evening m'lord," she said with a curtsy, "I am Morgan Le Fae," she said extending her hand.

(ooc ughhhhh well lol j\I guess just who her family is and whatever you'd think Morgause would brag about, lol)

"My Lady, You are welcome to my court. Please tell me what who you are and what you want."

"My Lady, You are welcome to my court. Please tell me what who you are and what you want."

(ooc lol I'll just repeat myself.)

"I am Morgan Le Fae," she said, a little taken back at his directness, "I've come here from Avalon a while ago, do you know where Lady Igraine would be? I have much news to tell her from her sister Morgause."

Overlapping time--ack! Please permit me one insert into the chronology of Kim's new post. When Morgan has just said to Merlin "Goddess bless," I imagine him saying this to her:

"I welcome your intent to bless, though you have much to learn about the true source of blessing."

But then he does leave the court. I assume, Kim, that you _don't_ mean Morgan to be knowingly and intentionally evil at this point.
