The Lord of the Rings- J.R.R. Tolkien

I was thinking about this the other day and decided I'd ask what you guys think.
Where did they bury Éomer when he died? In Rohan they had that field where they buried their kings and at first they buried them on the West (I think) side and then they switched sides because one king died and didn't have a son so his nephew became king. Then that happened again with Theoden and Éomer, so what did they do? It doesn't really matter, I suppose, but I've always wondered that.

Oh wow! Two of my favorite authors descendents on an audiobook together. For someone who is a big literary person and reader, this is such an awesome thing! I will defintely have to get that. Thanks for letting us know about it.

Your welcome! I saw it and thought it soudned so cool for thsoe reasons too. Noramlly I don't buy audio books, as I like reading to myself, but this one I may just shell out the cash for.

I haven't been this geeked up since the CS Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia documentary included Ray Bradbury sharing his love for Narnia.

That's how I am too! I would rather read a book, make my own voices up for the characters, and sometimes the narrater's of audiobooks make it dull and boring, whereas when I read it I make it exciting and full of life, and sometimes audiobook readers don't do that.

It took me awhile to enjoy the Harry Potter audiobooks and several others before I was able to enjoy listening to them, before I go to sleep. I never saw that documentary, but I will defintely look for it and see it. That is so cool that Ray Bradbury loves Narnia. I like some of Ray Bradbury's works.

The documentary is on the Four Disc version of LWW.

You know, it's a shame we never had Douglas Gresham reading the audio book for JRR Tolkiens Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun.... now THERE would be the ultimate fan's dream.

You know, I think I figured out how my love for LOTR has fueled my disdain for Twilight apart from the fact I tried to read the book and found that aside from not being it's target demographic, I just plan didn't like it.

It's because of the movies. Look how quick Twilight films are coming out! Look how long it's taken to even get the Hobbit green-lit! Studios will invest in Twilight but they won't for the Hobbit. While I'll be the first to admit that the Tolkien fan base isn't even nearly as large as the Twilight fan base, making a Hobbit film is a sure fire way for studios to make money.

I'm going to attempt to make a LOTR convert of a friend of mine, I plan to have my friend watch all three theatrical editions of New Line Cinimia films. I am considering opting for the extended edition of the ROTK however, I feel that my friend should not miss crucial scenes such as The Mouth of Sauron. :)

I like both CON and LOTR but I'd have to say that I like LOTR more. I've read LOTR 5 times and CON about 2 or 3 times (in full). They are both brilliant works written by great authors. I don't read any other fantasy works by other authors, Lewis and Tolkien satisfy my imagination enough.

Today my dad and one of our friends were talking today and the friend mentioned she had a phone that had GPS on it now that will talk you through how to get places AND has a google map on it that shows you peoples houses! I told my dad a little while later that nowadays with computers and phones the way they are Sauron could just punch into google maps: "Location of the Ring" and it'd come up with a picture and specific instructions to Bag End.:p
