Counselor: I always like to get to know new students. I took a look at your file and it says you were homeschooled from Kidnegarden to eleventh grade.
Me: Yes.. I did a lot of traveling.. so it was impossible to enroll in public school.
Counselor: I'm curious to why you have chosen to enroll in your Senior year here. According to your records you are straight A student. There a plenty of insitutions you could attend. Great schools.
Me: I didn't enroll for academic reasons.
Counselor: Then why did you enroll?
Me: That infromation is previlaged.
Counselor: Listen.. I'm school counselor and I need students to feel they can be open with me.
Me: Trust me.. I have told you all I can.
Counselor: Fair enough.. but don't think your off the hook.
Me: Trust me.. you are very much apart of my plans.
Counselor: Plans?
Me: When I have finished my time here.. you will continue the work I have started.
Counselor: Work?
Me: Lute me just say that you and I arn't so different and that are goals are similar.
Counselor: I don't quite understand.
Me: You will in time.. now may I go? I have much to do.
In hall a stranger stands with his face covered by a locker. His outfit is comprised of a purple jacket and a green vest.
Adrian: Hey.. Grace.
Grace: Oh hello Adrian!
Adrian: Your perky..
Grace: That's because tonight Ricky is taking me to the movies.
Adrian: I see, well that's wondeful..
Grace: So.. have you met the new guy?
Adrian: Yeah.
Grace: What do you think?
Adrian: He's alright.. I will confess that he wasn't what I expected.
Grace: That' for sure.. his outfit is quite paculiar.
Adrian: I didn't think.. it seemed that odd.
Grace: Well it looks strange to me. Anyhow I better go.. see you later Adrian.
Adrian stood near Grace's locker for moment and then turned to see the new guy. He had closed his locker to reveal sleek black hair. When he turned Adrian was frightened. Upon the corners of his mouth were stretched out scars that formed a smile. He gave Adrian one look and quckily left the hallway.
Ricky: Hey Grace.. I'm going to be little late.. still have community service to do.
Grace: That's fine.. I understand.
Ricky: I should be done in half an hour.. so I see you after.
Grace: Ok.. love you.. bye bye.
*Ricky hangs up the phone*
Ricky begins cleaning some grafetti off the side of the school. Large letters in red read "Hahahaha.." and "Why So Serious?" Ricky began to scrube off the grafetti when he heard a noise. Ricky turned and looked to see if anyone was there. Suddenly appearing out of no where was a figure. Ricky stopped cleaning the grafetti and looked at the figure.
Ricky: Hello?
The figure didn't move, it looked like a statue. Then as Ricky turned away it was gone. Ricky turned to look a second time and was startled.
Ricky: Are you crazy?! Sneaking up on people this late!
Me: Sorry.
Ricky: What are you doing here anyway?
Me: I'm here to help you.
*Jeff grabs a bucket and uses sponge to help clean the grafetti off*
Ricky didn't say another word, the sooner he was done, the sooner he could be with Grace.
After they had cleaned all the graffetti off the side of school Ricky turned to Jeff.
Ricky: Thanks.. I guess.
Me: No problem.. now go enjoy your evening.. I'll take care of the rest.
Ricky then headed towards his car and prepared for a wonderful night.
Jeff headed toward cafeteria where he was met by the New Guy. The New Guy took a seat and held on to his book tightly.
Me: May I look at you art?
The New Guy slowly loosed his grip on book and slide it over to Jeff.
Peering through the pages Jeff was rather distrubed by the images. There were sketchs of shadows, images of knives and words scribbled in red ink. One word caught Jeff's attention 'Why So Serious?'
Me: May I ask the significant of this sentece you've written throughout your work?
New Guy: Why So Serious?
Me: Yes.. that's the one.
New Guy: It's something my father taught me.
Me: Taught you?
New Guy: Yes.. he came to me one day and told me.. I was too serious.. that I needed to smile more.. that I needed to be more care free.
Me: And?
New Guy: He.. well he made me never forget it.
Me: So you right it in your book.. to remind yourself?
New Guy: Yes.. I am to never forget it.
Me: You and your father must be close.
New Guy: No.. he just made sure I would never forget those words.
Me: I see. Well I must say you have a gift.. you should think about possibly attending an art school.
New Guy: hahaha!
Me: What's so funny?
New Guy: Me.. an artist.
Me: Why is that funny?
New Guy: Listen.. I am no artist.. I am monster.. I will not ever be like you or any of these people. I'm just a freak.. that's who I am.
Me: You're not a freak.. your just different.
New Guy: Ha.. different is just polite for freak.. don't bother trying to console me.. I've accepted what I am.. why don't you do the same.
Me: I just wanted to help.
New Guy: I'm beyond help.
Me: No one is beyond help.
New Guy looked at Jeff straight in eye.
New Guy: You don't know me.. so you can't help me.. no one can. So just leave me alone!
The New Guy took his book and walked away abruptly. Jeff watched as he disspeared through the doorway. It was obvious this New comers was a troubled individual, another project that needed work.
