the offical Lara Croft/Tomb Raider Club

I WANT IT SOOOOO BAD OMG. TRA is pretty great, I really want Underworld for PS3 though because apparently everything's loads better than the PS2 version on there.

Well, it's about time we resurrect this thread since there has been some news of the new game. First of all, it's still about a year away... March 2013. Second. There's a trailer out there about the game. I don't like the trailer much but the gameplay looks like it's going to be great. Can't wait to play it!

You can watch the trailer on YouTube here.

I loved how the trailer looked, especially the cinematic one, and the gameplay looks truly epic! The only thing that I'm worying about is how long they're going to have her staggering about because of her hurt side. That could get tiresome rather fast.
Oh, and I wish that Keeley Hawes was still being Lara's voice instead of some random.

I think they overdid that hurting and screaming a bit. But once she stops that, it looks like like a great game. :)

This was the game that caused me to give up on the franchise.

I own a copy, but I've never used it.
I haven't even installed it.

Over the past few releases, they've been rewriting the backstory of Tomb Raider to the point where it isn't Tomb Raider anymore.

The last one I played, I was getting quite annoyed with the way Natla was misrepresented.
I preferred her as the evil genius, not the malevolent goddess.

So when I heard about the prequel story, I was expecting Lara's airplane crash in the himalayas.

Then I heard them talking about shipwrecks, other survivors and bandit thugs.
And the first thing that popped into my head was:

"Wait, what the heck does this have to do with Lara's origin story?"

When I got a clearer picture of the story later on, I realized, the Tomb Raider I know and love is gone now, in favor of this cheap imitation version.

That's when I decided not to play it anymore.

I can assure you, I'm not purchasing the next games in the series.

I was so excited about this game before, and I still am, but I haven't bought it yet. I still plan to buy it but I'm not sure which one to get. For PS3 or Xbox360.

Starting to be concerned about how much further Tomb Raider can go wrong.

A online gamer friend of mine brought up the next Tomb Raider as a casual topic and they said something to the effect of Lara is becoming too girly and not the tough woman she used to be.

I think that's further confirmation it was best to get out when I did.

By the way, still interested in Tomb Raider.
I'm just sticking with the older versions before the retconning started.
That's everything from number 1-6 (including the Gold versions).

Although I don't find number 4 very interesting, so I tend not to play that one.

I'm currently trying to get all the Tomb Raiders I like via Steam, but unfortunately, the Gold games aren't for sale on Steam yet.
I think I managed to get the main games though.

If you are wondering why I'm trying to get them on Steam, my Tomb Raider CDs were loved to death and I figured it's best to have versions of the game that don't require the disc.

For example, Tomb Raider III Gold I can't play because when the drive attempts to spin the disc, the heavy use of the disc damaged the surface and the drive can't read it anymore.
And they're all like that now!

Ahhh I love Steam. It's my new friend. I have the newest one on Steam but I am not very good at the games. The newest one focuses on her before she was all cool and amazing. So hopefully the next one will get into that. But I am also worried about how few puzzles there were. They need to make sure that the next one brings them back as they are the whole point of TR.

I still want to play the last game that came out but I haven't even bought it yet. I will soon, though, and I'll post my reactions after I play it.
