I'VE FINALLY FINISHED ELDEST!!! YUY!!! IT WAS GREAT!!!
That person must have read the books very carefully, to find out all this stuff. And besides, Murtagh isn't like Aragon, he's like Darth Vader: "Luke, I am your father" becomes: "Eragon, I am your brother"
But I don't care, the books are great! That's just that kind of books, they're all a bit the same, and it's a challenge to do something original. But CP has managed to make something very creative and he should be proud of it!!

That's how I see it. And his fantasy is definately a lot better than some of the other drivel that lines the countless shelves of sci/fi literature in most book shops.

I think that the next book will start out with a "Return of the Jedi" style rescue of Katrina from Helgrind! I can't wait!!!!!

If anyone read the sneak preview chapter from the eldest special edition then you would realise that they do go and try to rescue her :) But that was only like one chapter that they gave as a sneak peek for us :) I agree with you about the books on sci-fi/fantasy book shelves in bookstores, some are just plain rubbish, in my opinion. New eragon books have been realeaes with golden dragon, Gladre on the cover-

i have read the two books and i loved them. i have also seen the movie and loved that...

i just read what that person thinks about the two books and i think that he is wrong... ok so some of the names are a bit similer but there is nothing wrong with that. i have read all of the LOTR books and seen all of the movies and i dont think that they are alike at all. i also know all about the star wars story lines and i have never seen any of them but i know enugh to know that eragon and star wars are not the same...

this person is aloud to have an opion but what he/she said is a bit mean and harsh.

Actually loverble, i totally agree with person who is being mean.
Although the books are good, they are very unoriginal, as most of the ideas have come from other stories- the capture of Arya (princess Leia); and all too many character parallels(Obi wan/Gandalf for Brom, vastly powerful evil person- Emperor Palpatine/Sauron is Galbatorix)
I entirely agrree that CP should come up with some TOTALLY new ideas, but i also think he should be punshed somehow for effectivelt stealing others ideas.

fair enugh. we are each entiled to our own opions. but it think punishing him is taking it a tad far...

Well if you say that the names are the same then did Tolkien copy Shakespeare?

Prince of Aragon >> Aragorn??

Not necessarily- remember tolkein wrote lots of books, with hundreds of characters. Aragon is a place in Spain, so he may have been inspired by that. But as far as i know, that is an isolated example in one of his many books- Paolin has only written two, and from there there are many examples of plagurism.

I don't
think Paolini
copied. He
deserves
credit for
his work.
Writing a
700-page
novel is tough
work.
