"Hey Guys this is a brief spoiler from the third book, Brisingr of the Inheritance Cycle, I don't wanna tell you too much, but I think its safe to say that Eragon encounters a new and rather terrifying enemy in the third book, you'll have to read the book to find out exactly what this enemy is, but I think I can tell you that this enemy likes to laugh, and not in a good way."

I've re-read Eragon and it just says that she left. I did get the impression that she was dead but I don't think it's actually written in the books so it could be that she might return in Brisingr.
