The Official Liam Neeson Thread (Aslan II)

It's very sad what happened to Natasha. I was praying hard for her recovery, but ultimately for LIam and his family to turn to the one character that he's played: Aslan (Jesus). Liam once said in an interview (might even have been an interview regardin Narnia) that he was looking for somethin in religion, and wasn't sure what. It was somethin to that effect; I'd have to find the video again.

Anyone planning on seeing the Clash of the Titans remake? Typically, I avoid remakes of classic films, but at least they've bothered to do an amazing job casting Zeus and Hades... Liam Neeson as Zeus and Ralph Feinnes as Hades. You can't get any better casting then them.

Any rate, I musta dmit, one of the reaosns I don't like how they've changed so many of Aslan's lines in the movies and downplayed him in PC, aside from changes to the book, is becasue of Liam Neeson. He does an a amazing job with any script he's given and is horribly underused, at least in the second Narnia film.

I don't know, I liked his lines just fine in LWW. I didn't like his lack of screen time in PC.

I posted with the purpose of reviving this thread. ;)

And no, I don't plan on seeing Clash of the Titans or A-Team.

Liam did a good job in 'Clash of the Titans'. I will see the A-Team simply because that was one of my all-time favorite TV shows. Liam's presence in that film will simply be a big plus.

I was just thinking recently how glad I am that they used Liam Neeson for the voice of Aslan. I don't think anyone else could have portrayed Aslan any better. :)

Wow... I haven't visited this thread in a while! Yes, I can't think of anyone else who could have done a better voice for Aslan! I'm also hoping that Aslan gets more screen presence in VODT. Let's see if we can't get this thread going again!

I really love how deep and rich his voice is. That was how I always pictured Aslan's voice to be. It was very fitting. It seemed that the more the kids grow up and return to Narnia, the deeper his voice is.

I dunno if I had posted here or not but I love Liam, and the way he portrayed and voiced Aslan is really quite touchy and good. But I'm sad for what had happened to his wife. Hope he may still hold on to his faith and never give in. Besides his wife maybe in God's place now... Goodluck Liam..

So I just watched the bonus features on VDT, and I have to say I liked Liam's "method" for voicing Aslan. First standing is a plus when recording voice work. I heard it over and over in choir practice that you get a much fuller and richer and deeper voice when you stand then when you sit.

Second his trip to a Safari to study lions. I have to say when I see a lion in the zoo, they just seem board, cannot very 'wild". Sure, they are still really majestic, but they just seem stronger and braver in the wild.

and third I liked his comment about giving advice to his sons, namely that they don't listen to him all the time. Kinda made me think about something. We talk about how "majestic" and "regal "and "authoritative" Liam's voice sound .But to his boys, it's just the voice of dad. I wonder if they would be as riveted when he reads a book as we would be. Makes me wonder if the kids of actors like Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones are as "impressed" with their voices as we are.
