I love this show!! I really hope Grace doesn't give in to Ricky's flirting and I hope Amy and Ben end up together. Ben is good for Amy.
Did anyone think that the way they ended the show's season was terrible? I thought it was random to have their parents just break up, you know...

not really
they were having problems - So to me it wasn't that random.
About Jack
yes... he's such a weirdo
And Ricky - Don't like him (the actor is very good looking though)
Adriana on teh other hand I have a soft spot for.

Yeah I don't like Jack either, he seems like your typical Jock. Ben is awesome he's considerate and kind. He is totally the man for Amy. I do hope they offically get married like previews for Season 2 seem to insinuate. I'm tuning in tonight to see what happens next! :D

I really don't like this show nor the title. It's way to broad, and stereotypical. Not every American teenage woman is sleeping around ending up pregnant... Why can't it just be The Secret Life of a Teenage Girl adding a specific tone to it.

Um..yea.. we know that.
But still many people are sleeping around and i would know that because I've talked to girls who do sleep with their boyfriends - ALOT!
and in this show
the main character does it once and get's pregnant
so it shows that
You don't need to do it all the time to end up pregnant.
While Adrian teh actual girl who does sleep around has never gotten pregnant.
Stereotypical in which way?

and Sir Godfrey
i would love to see her raise the child
Cause I'm pretty sure she won't let the 'baby' meet Ricky
and I'm sure Ricky will want to see the child.

ToJ, do you know every American girl across the United States? That's how it's stereotypical. Most of the girls I know, have not done anything with their boyfriends, let alone average guys. But thats the same example you just put, I'm just saying, I'm sure other countries have the same situation, it's like point out, that American teenage girls are the only ones who do this, IF at all.

I've only seen the show once and I think my fav character is Ricky. Keep in mind I've only seen it once so I may be thinking of a different character.

The one thing though is that almost every conversation with the teens in the show is about . Its talked about a lot at school but I think the show overdoes it and it feels a bit unrealistic. I don't like the show anyway cause its like a teenage soap opera and I hate the whole convoluted romance drama thing so I really don't.

Um..right.
it's a fabricated t.v. Show - and no I don't know every Teen America
I still don't think that would classify it as sterotypical.
Plus the title is
the secret life of AN american teenager
-- which kind of means that one out of 100 teens does turn up pregnant.

Look - i dont care if you watch the show or not, but don't call it stereotypical.

and to Josh - ya - the school this is kind of boring, but it's a part of Amy's life now.

Well that's ok It's not for everyone, at least you have a more applicable reason for not liking the show. Well if Ricky is your favorite you can vote in the poll. :)

I wasn't looking for a fight ToJ, so I'm not sure where the animosity is from.
The title is a tad bit stereotypical, it's not really an unfair statement, it's just the truth. It's stereotypical in the fact that the title American is being associated with a lax in moral upholding. Which isn't true, it's just the general forsad of Americans, which isn't true: hence stereotypical.

It's just a comment, and an observation. I'm not criticizing your show..

Well actually, the title is fitting because as you can see every single teen in this story has their own secret.
Plus, a majority of girls are sleeping around. They just don't get pregnant. Most teens actually don't watch the show because they think it's unrealistic that Amy did get pregnant in the first place.

*double Post*
and yea..what Abby said is true

the secret doesn't have to be that they are pregnant it could be anything
i have secrets don't you?

I concure with queenaravis, the title isn't sterotypical at all. The Secret Life of an American Teenager, can refer to all kinds of things besides sex. Like Aravis said though the teens in the show tend to be sleeping around, so it can be argued that it is refering to sex, but then agan this still is relevent. Since the stagering statistic is that an oberwhelming majority of teens have a secret, and that secret is they have had sex.

Note: Driad your totally entitled to your opinion and I don't mean for you to be critsized. However I think a healthy disagreement and debate is totally fine.

So do I :D

It's okay ToJ.

Wait, when we mention the majority of girls in the show are sleeping around, or in real life? If in Real life, I still don't think thats true. That's a really broad claim. I mean I'm sure there's a lot, but not a majority.

You'd be surpised, I took courses on children and teen counsoling and we learned some stagering statistics.

Yeah. It's a majority. You'd be surprised. Some girls are just more quiet about their relationships than others.

I think it depnds on who you know
like if you go to Gurl.com
A majority of the girls on there sleep with their boyfriends

but if you go to my friends school
Most girls are virgins.
