Think of "generation ships":-- slower-than-light starships which need to provide the means for generations of pioneering populations to stay alive during centuries of isolation from the universe as a whole. The third or fourth generation might forget that there even WAS any universe outside their hull. Keir Dullea of "Space Odyssey" fame, and Walter Koenig from "Babylon Five," both delivered their usual excellent performances in "The Starlost." Nothing about my parody here implies disapproval of the premise or the actors. But the series was canceled before Dullea's character could figure out how to correct the ship's course before it flew directly into a star.

Hence our premise. We'll start where Keir Dullea started in the show; thinking there wasn't anything outside the hull to be discovered.

Fiddles and bongo drums urged the six-couple dancing circles to swing and swirl even faster. The newlyweds wavered between enjoyment of the dancing and impatience to trot away down the honeymoon tunnel.

A yellow-skirted girl knocked the hat from Truck Borden's head; a brown-skirted girl retrieved it for him. Not interested in either girl, Truck beckoned a third girl, steering her in a direction opposite from the newlyweds. Ippppp
