Chapter 16-
Soon Susan and Lucy opened their eyes from the deep and heavy sleep. When they were awakened they saw Peter crying which they had only seen once along time ago when their brother, Edmund had almost died in battle. When Jaden noticed the 2 girls were awake she quickly untied their ropes and said quickly and harshly "Get up. We must be going." The 2 girls slowly stood up and rushed over to Peter and the 3 all hugged in an embrace of bitter sorrow.
--------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile Edmund began putting on his old battle clothes which he had worn only 2 years ago and took a deep breath. He didn`t feel ready. He had never fought by himself before, he had always been alongside, Peter. He was glad to have Aslan but he worried about his family. Were they safe? Had Jaden killed them? He did not get a minute of sleep the night before and he felt quite tired. Aslan slowly walked up to him and said
"Are you ready, Edmund?"
Edmund looked down at his feet then replied
"I`m not sure, Aslan. I feel quite uneasy. I`ve never fought in a battle alone."
Aslan nodded then said
"You are ready, my child."
Edmund did not say anymore but followed Aslan and the small army they had gathered and went into the thick woods.
-----------------------------------------------
As the sun began to raise high in the sky Peter, Susan and Lucy ran as hard as they could for Jaden had told them to do so. They felt like their legs could not support them any longer for they were so tired. They had not gone at a slower pace then this for atleast 3 hours.
As they kept running on Lucy fell to the ground, she was too tired to go on. Jaden stopped suddently and so did the others when she fell.
"Get up now!" demanded Jaden.
"I can`t." said Lucy under a gasp for breath.
As Peter watched as Jaden got ready to strike the poor girl, Peter relized Lucy had her dagger for it had fallen on the ground beside her. Peter slowly jumped toward the dagger and grabbed it, which was quite diffucult when you have your hand tied behind your back, Jaden didn`t notice him for he was behind her. He then began trying to cut his own ropes but now relized the were clearly made out of some sort of metal. He looked at Susan and Lucy and to his glad surprise they only were bound with ropes. She must of not thought the girls could escape as easily. He hurried over to Susan and began trying to cut away at the ropes. Susan tried not too show too much hapiness on her face as she felt the ropes loosening around her palms and when she was finally free, Peter said to her
"Hurry get out of here, quickly."
Susan then began "But Peter, what about you.."
Peter then nodded sadly and said
"Never mind me. Jaden will discover you free if you try and help me just hurry, this is your only chance."
Peter then watched with tears of joy and sadness as he watched her go, but his attention did not stay on her for long cause he then heard the sound of Jaden strike, Lucy`s cheek and anger against her burned inside him.
Lucy began crying and Jaden said to her
"That will teach you to do what I, Queen Jaden says. Do not disobey again or there will be a more harsh punishment."
She then turned to Peter and saw that Susan was no longer there, he eyes showed more anger than they ever had before as she exclaimed
"Where is, Susan?"
Peter did not answer but began to fiddle with then dagger he still held in his hands, if only he could try and make a shot at her with it but it was defently no use for he would defently miss. The best thing he could do was to keep it later so he could free, Lucy.
Jaden walked over to Peter then repeated
"I said.. Where is Susan?"
Peter once again did not answer.
Jaden`s face twisted in anger.
Peter once again braced himself for her to hit him but insted she turned to Lucy and knocked her in the back of the head with the other head of her sword and Lucy fell to the ground. She was alive but had fainted from the hard blow.
Peter had not expected that Jaden would do such a thing to his sister.
She was a very cruel witch and all seemed hopeless for Peter and Lucy. Their only hope was Edmund and Susan now.
