You missed the -illo. -illo is, in Esperanto, a diminutive construction, thereby signified the smallness or insignificance of the diminified, vis-a-vis, the word to which the extension, clarification or suffix -illo was added, i.e. armada. Hence the armada is very small; i.e. an armada of ants.
