I got to see "Frozen" in the electronics department of a store. It was less irritating than I had been led to expect. Yes, the prince was a creep (NOT the first cinematic princely creep, as witness the "Shrek" movies and "Spaceballs"). But "Frozen" did not try to convince us that ALL males were worthless; what's-his-name who rode the reindeer was a good guy. So I can simply allow myself to be gently indifferent to "Frozen."

Characters singing to each other AS their dialogue is at least as old as opera.

I heard a good quote on the difference between an opera and a musical. A musical is a story with songs thrown in, while an opera are songs with a story thrown in.

I saw this also. But I only saw the last half of it. But from the trailers I got the premise of what the first half was about. It was good, maybe not as good Frozen, but it wasn't an out of control musical.
