when did you first watch the BBC version and what was your reaction?

Yes, it is, even if that was the "best" they could do at the time. However, I've wondor what people will think of the things we think are good now in the future. Especially with technology getting better and all that stuff...hmmm.

I watched it after the Walden Media version came out.
Me and my brother laughed our heads off almost the entire time... it is so different to the new version....

Lol.
Yeah I was trying to watch SC, but my siblings kept laughing the whole time...like at everything!

I'd be like "Uhh...its not that funny. now shut up and be quiet." :p

(ooh..i love your name :p)

my best friends laughed at the graphics..
but we all agreed that we love it better
than the new one because it's closer to the book.. :p

I do think this sums it up nicely. It is a bit of a joke because of the standard, but deserves our respect because of its staunch faithfulness to the works of Lewis. None of this "The spell is breaking because of the hope you losers have brought"!! NO!!! It's our Aslan that's doing it mate!

hahahahaha!! :D
'Losers'?!
hahahahahaha :p
yup! you're right! ASLAN is on the move!!!!

I just saw the first part of LWW, until the point where they get to Aslan's camp. The graphics where kinda bad (though it could have been worse i guess), but i loved the story line, and i loved the fact that they kept the dialogue so similar to the book's:D

I have only seen bits and pieces of them. I think the graphics and costumes were really bad. And I didn't like any of the actors for the kids (especially Lucy). But like lieke said, they stayed really close to the books with their lines, which I liked. But considering the year they were made, they werent too bad I guess.

I was pretty young 5 or 6 maybe. I thought it was awesome then because I had just read the books. But now since the new one came out(and its been over ten years since I first saw it) I don't really care for it anymore. Although one of my friends and I get really bored sometimes and make fun of it a little bit. She likes to say Aslaan the Liiiooon. Yeah were crazy. I know.

I first watched it about a few years after it was made after I had just read the book for the first time and it was like reliving the story all over again! I absolutely love the BBC version and still do to this day and am proud to admit it! :) If you want to laugh at the technology of the late 1980s go ahead, but I think the series should get a lot more credit for respecting and sticking to Lewis's extraordinary series. Yes we all know that the new movies have better costumes, special effects etc etc but please stop bagging out BBC narnia because a lot of people will always treasure the series and appreciate what it stands for!

I actually watched some parts of the SC on Youtube, cuz i dunno if there's any webpage where i can get the movies... anyway, i just bursted into laughter when i saw poor Glimfeather... it looks that guy inside the costume was dying of heat!!!!!!!! Lol, I showed that to my baby cousin and he wept when he saw Puddlegum! He said it was so scary!!!! And so i stood watching and making subtitles (You know, my family speaks spanish) and while I was doing it, Trumpkin's voice just broke my ears... it so... ugghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I love the old ones. And I just bursted into laughter when i did read the Anna.the.Gentle's experience... poor your friend Alex!!! Lol.

How rude!! That's how people where I'm from actually speak like!! :D Hard to believe I know...

I can understand it being funny - but I still love them, they are comedy genius!!

I first watched it when I was a little kid, like 7 or something, I don't really remember. All I remember was that I never really did like it. :p I'm watching it again on YouTube, and it's really funny. lol I prefer the Disney version.

That sounds awesome Jonny! I wish I could have been there.

Vickjillpole...did you know that the guy who played Reepicheep and Glimfeather in the BBC productions is the same guy playing Nikabrik in the new version. Warwick Davis.

The BBC is better on a regular screen rather than on YouTube. Much better in my mind. I have the DVDs too and I love sticking them in and watching for hours.
