I think it's hilarious the way Legolas and Gimli try to kill more orks than the other. Counting in the middle of a war....I love it!

Jackson went too far in undercutting Gimli's dignity for comical effect. In particular, Gimli should NOT have been lagging so far behind Legolas and Aragorn in the early pursuit scenes of "The Two Towers;" Tolkien's Dwarves are supposed to have enormous long-term endurance.

Pippin and Merry and Gimli and Legolas were both so hilarious. I do wonder however who has chosen Dark Sidious and Yoda. Wasn't it Aravis?

Gimli is funny,but I didn't find Legolas and Gimli funny together at all...

I think Merry and Pippin are hilarious,though!!!!

Gimli and Legolas were funny in the movies and also in the books. Not all the time but the counting part wasn't a serious thing They became close friends during their time together. But for me Merry and Pip were the most funny! But in the books they weren't that hilarious as in the movies.

Without a doubt, Legolas and Gimli. their competitiveness was not only funny, but within their characters as well. I thought I would bust a gut when Legolas brought down the Ellyphant(sp?) and Gimli pipes up, "That's still only counts as one!"

I don't think the movies were very comical, but if I had to choose the most comical, It would definitly be Merry and Pippen. I like Pippen's cluelessness and they are both funny when they smoke and talk about all six meals that they eat.
