Why does the White Witch have icicles sticking out of her head?

I know. It was artistic liscence . Its like a symbol of her power as well because as her power gets weaker, the icicles melt down. You have to remember she's not human as well.

Yup, it was an ice crown. Supposedly they were going to use a metal crown, but Tilda preferred the ice crown. When things are going good, Tilda wore white garments and a full ice crown. As things went bad for her, the ice crown started to melt and her garments grew darker/greyish.

I thought they were kinda cool....I think there are a few libertys they should and could take...hmmm do you think that she will have the ice crown in MN? I hope not, they would be out of place!

She will not have an ice crown in TMN. I have seen drawings of Jadis in TMN, where she is wearing a crown on her head; however, the book never mentions that she wore a crown. She was the most beautiful in appearance among the other images, but mingled with this beauty was something cold, hard and stern.

At any rate, she demands to have the finest jewels possible to be offered to one of such a "high rank" (I won't give any more details as it would ruin it for those who haven't yet read TMN - wonderful story, my second favorite out of the Chronicles!).

Even though in reality the Witch-queen wore a gold crown and had a gold wand, I love what was done for her in the movie. Far more mysterious and very appropriate.

The ice crown looks cool!

The metal helm which looks like an antler's head she wore during the battle is kind of weird though. As if she's an animal hunter. Hahaha :D

The crown in the movie is just how I always saw it in my head when I read the book. :)

I never notice that!
How do you?! I am just blown away by the movie!
I couldnt look at the details
Yes.. Need to really watch again.

I loved her icicles. I thought it was a really interesting way to show that he power was waning. I actually found them rather amusing the smaller they got. They were so wimpy by the end of the movie. Wimpy icicles. *^^*

I actually love the White Witch as a character. True, she was not at all a nice person, but that's what made her so interesting. That anyone could be that hostile and frightening. Also, I thought Tilda Swinton was just amazing.

i have to admit that Tilda Swinton played the part very well. Also, she managed to bring out the intense evil of the white witch without making it look corny as it often does when the part is taken too far(i was especially happy that she didn't have to cackle or something... after seeing the musical of LWW i totally lost my respect for the actress playing her when she's cacle in every scene).

hey did anyone else notice that the ice grows then it starts to melt?
i swear after she meets edmund it is about 3 inches taller but before it was about 3 inches shorter but then i just keeps melting!
