Write a note to the person above you II

Dear Lossy,

I am slowly learning that I should not skip to the end of books, although I still do it sometimes to see if my favorite characters' names are there. (I want to know if they are still alive.)

Sincerely,
Glen

Dear GG,

Anyone with a Harry Potter headcannon the size of yours has absolutely no right to call herself a purist.

Sincerely,
Glen

Dear Freckles,

A headcannon is a kind of projectile weapon mounted upon one's cranium. However, Glen was most likely referring to a 'head-canon', which is very different, being one's ideas about something that may have happened in a book, TV show, film, comic, or other medium of storytelling.

Insincerely,
-WarriorSatyr

Dear WS,

GG was actually the one who introduced me to the term "headcanon" (I forget if she spells it with one "n" or two, but I'll blame it on her anyway). Basically, in her headcanon, all of the good guys in the Harry Potter series survive. And I do mean all. Including the ones we don't know very well, like Moody. Headcanons aren't much comfort to me, because I can't get over an author killing one of the characters. Even if I make up parallel stories in my head, I still can't conscience letting characters the author killed come back to life--which either makes me more of a purist than GG, or more gloomy in general. So for me, Regulus Black, Severus Snape, and Remus Lupin (my three favorite characters) are eternally dead. For GG, they're alive and kicking. Well, possibly not Regulus, but I think both Snape and Lupin are.

Sincerely,
Glen

P.S. Actually, GG probably doesn't want Snape kicking. She's a Gryffindor....

Dear Freckles,

I was completely fine with Moody being dead. And Dumbledore, too. Regulus, Snape, Lupin, and Sirius are the only ones I really care about saving. I am selectively heartless.

Sincerely,
Glen

Dear Rainshadow,

I apologize. Good luck with book five. I won't make any comments about it, for fear of letting something else out...though I think I can safely say that I loved Fred and George in that book.

Sincerely,
Glen

Dearest Young Lady,

We would encourage you to unite yourself with the DLR for the sake of world justice. You could also unite yourself with the DLR because you wish to hug the DLF.

That is optional.

Sincerely,
The DLR

Not so dear DLR,

Please stop writing in italics. I don't mind you hijacking Glen's account, but italics gives me shivers. Maybe write in orange or something.

Sincerely,
Lossendil

Dear Quercus fusiformis,

Orange is my least favorite color, and I imagine it would be terrible to behold on a mint green background. ... I hope the DLR aren't reading this, because if they do, they're sure to adopt the suggestion.

Worriedly,
Freckles

Dearest young lady,

We would not condescend to change in response to someone who lacks care for the DLF. Principle must come first. Also, we enjoy frightening Lossy.

Sincerely,
The DLR

So I'm not worth frightening? Did you know that indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike? Yeah that's right, I just quoted J to the K, AGAIN

Hmpfly,
Fr- Whatever, you don't care  :(

Dearest young lady,

Considering that you once fell in love with the DLF, to attempt to frighten you would probably be a waste of our time.

We cannot afford to waste time. We have a world to free.

Sincerely,
The DLR
