X-men Movie Discussion

She's technically supposed to be a cyborg. And she's supposed to be trying to kill Wolverine for his adamantium. And she doesn't die. Ever. In the comics. Sometimes I can't believe that Stan Lee and co. let them make these movies the way they did. Where did Stryker come from anyway? He isn't in the comics and it was Cornelius who gave Wolverine his adamantium not someone named Stryker.

Sounds like your a real X-Men buff. I know enough to be dangerious, at least about my favorite characters. I know some timeline stuff the Dark Pheonix Saga, Apocolypse and so on.

I'm kind of obsessed with any superhero but particularly like the X-men. I got hooked about 5 years ago and have loved them ever since. I'm sad to say that I actually study superheroes and memorize facts.

Well that's cool, I was like that about Star Wars. I could tell you everything about a character, their planet, the ship they piloted, thier ancestors and what happened to them in an alternate universe and etc. So It's nothing to be ashamed off, It's one of your hobbies. :)

Ya, the thing is that I've been starting to think about possible careers and there isn't anything I really want to do. The only things I can think of are things that I can't do or don't want to do. Because I love comics so much I thought about something like that but there really isn't anything.

Anyway back to X-men. I once made a list of the characters in the movie and listed what I didn't like about how they did each character. It was rather long.

Have you thought about writing for the comics? or taking classes in creative art?

Yeah the X-Men movies weren't perfect by far, but I guess It's better to have them than nothing.

Of course I love Huge Jackman as Logan, however I'm hoping he will be more agressive in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the Last Stand he seemed to tame to me.

I know. Even Jean didnt like how tame he was.

Pheonix: "What, you think he is not in your head too? Look at you Logan. He's tamed you!"

Btw I LOVED Deathstrike. So what if she's not a cyborg. It wouldnt work in the films anyway. And she didnt die. Did you ever play X-men the Offical game?

As you all can probably see I like the movies better than the comic books, so I will defend them. And stop comparing all the differences. You do realize they have to change a few things in an adaptation.

No I've never played that one.

And I'm not saying they shouldn't change some things but to change them so drastically.

I agree that Lady Deathstryke was amazing in X2. The whole fight between her and Wolverine wad fantastric. By the way did you ever seen the extended version of that fight?

Yeah I did. I like the move they deleted where there claws go into each others arms and Wolverine flips her over him, and she back kicks him in the face. THough the additional stabbing was a little unsettling.

I think the only huge changes are:

Rouge in every way(powers, relationship with Iceman and Wolverine, and personality)
Pheonix being a bit more of a demonic pshycopath than an angry goddess. And I don't think she killed Scott in the comics
Wolverine was a little too tame.
In the films Mystique works with Magneto, wherein the comics she formed her own brotherhood. I don't think this however is a change that people hate.
The outfits for every character are different, but while the Spandex works in comics it doesnt translate on film well.

I'm very excited about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. At last a film that centers on my favorite X-Men, at last he will be no longer tamed and at last some of the most beloved mutant characters that were neglected in the earlier movies, shall now be seen for the first time on the big screen. :)
