Voyage of the Dawn Treader Pre-Vis Trailer at NRB

A blogger called “Twitchie” went to the National Religious Broadcasters Convention last week, and while there attended a Disney presentation. Here’s a quick look at the Narnia related parts:

I went to NRB last week. (National Religious Broadcasters Convention) It was in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland, one of the biggest hotels in the world. In fact, UNDER THE ROOF the INTERIOR of the hotel is 56 acres. Yeah. You read that right. 56 acres.

The new head of Disney Studios, [Bob Iger], who has taken over for Michael Eisner has really signaled a change in the direction of Disney. It’s under him that Chronicles has been acquired and he promised a great amount of care and consideration with such a beloved story. He said, multiple times, that he feels that Chronicles is THE most important series in Disney’s history and he will be treating it as such.

Then we got a sneak preview for the new trailer of Prince Caspian. It was awesome. I think it literally released the next morning – he said we were the first to see it. Then he showed us a sneak preview of the new trailer of Wall*E* which was awesome. It finally showed some of the story and answered some questions and I’ve got to say, I’m already a Wall*E* fan! And then…the COOLEST THING EVER….

WE SAW A TRAILER FOR VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER – THE NEXT NARNIA MOVIE!!!!! Yes! It was awesome! Before they begin filming, they put together the entire movie in a CGI format. They call it pre-visualization because they want the director to know what to film and how. So they built that into a trailer partnered with designers and actors and everyone involved in the process and their thoughts. So we saw a special feature/trailer for Voyage of the Dawn Treader – and it’s going to be amazing! It’s going to be Pirates of the Caribbean times a million!

  1. Wonder if C.S. Lewis intended to write about the adventures of Peter and Susan in the real world where a “certain” Narnian appeared. Oh yeah, he did as an unfinished manuscript about a Mr…….ah-ah-ah….spoilers…..Will Tom Baker (Doctor Who)reprise his role as Puddleglum? All that n a bag-o-chips when I return.

    • If Baker showed up again I think my Whovian brain might explode, I had forgotten he played that particular part in the old films….Oh dear, mental Image of Puddleglum wearing a 4 meater long scarf, felt hat, and munching on Jelly Babies.

  2. i wonder if they will make the next book a movie what is it called……………..um…….um……oh yeah
the silver chair.it would be like so not cool if they did because it like has nothing to do with the Pevensies
well anyways i can sooooooooo not wait to see the voyage of the dawn treader

  3. Puddleglum plays a very important role in the silver chair because he’s the guider for Eustace and jill and he is working for Aslan if you read the book you’ll understand.

  4. um, jen, it’s called ‘the chronicles of narnia’ not ‘the pevensies go globe traveling’

  5. ha. nice candace. i thought for a sec that i would hate losing the pevensies, but it would stink even worse if the director would stray far enough from the original story so as to include lucy and edmund. ive seen a couple of trailers of the voyage of the dawn treader but the only thing they include are shots from prince caspian, lord of the rings, pirates of the caribbean and eragon. id love to see a real one for once.
