We’ve done our due diligence and discovered the roles that each of the new cast members is playing in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Earlier today a press release went out announcing that Gary Sweet, Arthur Angel and Bruce Spence had joined the cast, but there was no word on the roles that they were to play in the film. Now we’ve learned what those roles will be, and we couldn’t be happier with the choices for these characters. They look like they’ll be formidable characters in the film.
Gary Sweet will be playing the role of Drinian, the Captain of the Dawn Treader.
Arthur Angel will be in the role of Rhince, the first mate on the Dawn Treader.
And finally, character actor Bruce Spence will be in the role of Lord Rhoop, one of the seven missing lords that Caspian is seeking out on his journey.
I hope they dont continue to cast unknowns
…Looks promising. So far. Let’s see if they don’t screw up VDT, too.
Niiiice! Looks good.
Yay Bruce Spence will be perfect!
I really like all three of these choices. They all look the part to me, especially Gary Sweet as Captain Drinian!
Bruce Spence is anything but unknown. He was cast in Finding Nemo, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix Revolutions, an installation of Star Wars, and currently stars in Legend of the Seeker. The others yes, you could say those are unknowns. However they look like they can get the job done.
I wouldn’t call these guys unknowns . . . especially Bruce Spence, who has had small parts in the 3 of the biggest sci-fi/fantasy series in recent times – Star Wars, The Matrix, and Lord of the Rings. Not to mention his wonderful work in Legend of the Seeker! I think they’re doing it right . . . going after quality actors instead of Hollywood names. If you look at the first two films, none of the actors were well known before their release.
Great! I can’t wait for the rest of the casting!
“I think they’re doing it right . . . going after quality actors instead of Hollywood names.”
I agree!
I can’t wait to see what they bring to the characters on the big screen!
there aren’t any ladies in this movie??? lucy’ll be the only girl? Oh come on! put in Edmund or Caspian’s love interest for instance, like me!
I always pictured Puddleglum as being played by Bruce Spence, so I’m a bit disappointed that he is playing Lord Rhoop instead. Oh well, great pick anyways!
Make-up and costumes can do amazing things!
