  1. I don’t think Walden and Fox could have found a better organization to partner with! Good things are happening.

    • I completely agree. This is an amazing organization and from what I was told, it’s completely life changing to witness first hand what it’s like to see their faces when they’re given gifts for the first time ever.

    • Very true. This is very much a step in the right direction for the series. I don’t even recall a partnership like this for LWW.

  2. I think this is great, but how is Narnia going to be a part of it. Just wondering. Please answer.

    • maybe they’ll donate action figures, ‘n stuff like that (maybe money from the movie?)

  3. These are two fantastic organizations to come together and work toward a common but important goal. You will have great success in this endeavor because it causes us to take our eyes off ourselves and focus on others at this time of the year. Great job and devotion to our children and their families.

  4. this is terrific! but with the december release date, won’t it be too late for christmas 2010? we usually have to turn in our shoeboxes before thanksgiving so they can get them shipped by december.

    • Well, it won’t be right on the release date, but yes, OCC does have to ship out shoeboxes around that time, and by then, hopefully, Fox will be really marketing VDT.

  5. This is an awesome opprotunity. My family and my youth group fills several shoeboxes every year. This is also bringing the religious aspect back into the film series. I think that will be important in letting families know about the series. I remember when the first movie came out, they were promoting it a lot at my church, and they were giving away tickets as well. I’ pretty sure we weren’t the only church that did that. I wonder if they’ll do that for this movie? But still this is a wonderful endeavor to help kids around the world. I wish I could be there to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they recieve the shoebox. It must certainly feel wonderful to know that you’ve given so much happiness to a child just by letting them know you care about them.

    • My Church did stuff for LWW too. My dad spoke on the book and the movie. Then my youth pastor took two hundred kids from the local public school and our youth group to see it. This Operation Christmas Child thing my school does every year. I will make sure they do it this year and that the new Narnia movie will be made known. Can’t wait!

      • My friend said that at his VBS their teacher was talking about VDT and stuff like that.

    • All of a sudden I feel the need to really leave these (sort of) insightful replies to everything. Don’t know why.

  6. wow..This is great news..

  7. It is awesome to know that VDT is partnering with a great program that I know helps alot of kids all around the world. I told my friend and she couldn’t believe it!!!!

  8. This is awesome! VDT teaming up with a great cause is great, and I’m super excited to see how this turns out!! I’m so happy that VDT is teaming up…to make a difference.

  9. I’m very excited about this. I work with Operation Christmas Child year-round as an Area Coordinator. Also, my husband and I personally pack a lot of boxes because we want to make a difference in the lives of the children and help them to know about Jesus Christ. We’re hopeful this will bring about thousands and thousands more shoe boxes for precious boys and girls.

  10. Awesome! Samaritan’s Purse is wonderful! It’s also a ton of fun! Everyone should fill a box for these children!

  11. I love Samaritan’s Purse! I am definitely going to fill a box again this year like my family has done for so long.
