Tony Nixon, the actor for Rynelf the The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, wrote a piece about what it was like working with Ben Barnes (Caspian) and other Narnia cast members. It’s a great read, and it gives insight into the processes and procedures of filming a movie.
Here is an excerpt from the piece:
I first met Ben at the script read through, as I mentioned before it was started as a fairly informal event with Coffee and croissants and various pastries. It was in an upstairs room at Warner studios …I had grabbed a Coffee and as it happens the first person I met at the top of the stairs was Ben …he was halfway through a Croissant, I stuck out my hand and said, ‘Hi, I’m Tony …I play Rynelf’ …he shook my hand and said, ‘I’m Ben …I play your king’.
When we shot our first scene together his comment to the A.D. (assistant director) (and me) was “This man has a better beard than me, I’m the King have him removed and shaved” …

Pssst….did you know that every adult on set wanted to adopt Will Poulter? He talks about that in his piece as well. Read it!
LOL!!! How funny! ‘I play your king’, lol!!!
Haha! My favorite part was “have him removed and shaved.”
I know! I was seriously laughing at that one. And oh my gosh! There was someone that wanted to adopt Will?! LOL! I don’t blame them though. 😉
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
🙂 That was great 🙂
LOL, thats awsome. Thanks for sharing. (I didn’t know Ben was so funny!)
Ben has a great and easy sense of humour, it’s obvious he really wanted to get on with his fellow actors. A real icebreaker he is.
oh my word! that is sooooooooooooooooo funny!
“this man has a better beard than me!” (URG) lol
lol i cant imagine he said that 😀
This is so funny! Tony Nixon seems like a funny guy himself! One thing I that I really like about Narnia is that the acotrs seem like real people with a sense of morals (an observation made from a purely bystander observation). I really hope that all the pizzaz and glamor of being a celebrity doesn’t mar the kids. (If any of you understand what I mean…)
How much longer until the next Narnia!? 😀
Great article!
When are we going to hear news about whether they are making another film or not!?!?
I’m waiting desperately!
