Well, friends, another April Fools has come and gone and now part of our long and storied history. We didn’t get the outrage we normally do. Which is good. You’ve taken it in stride, and had a good laugh. Though this year, the jokes were semi-plausible.
Believe it or not, it’s getting harder for us to come up with jokes! The media dry spell has been hard on us too, and not just due to the lack of comedy fodder. We honestly wish we had some real news stories to report.
First the disclaimers:
1: A release date has NOT been tentatively scheduled for the Silver Chair. ( Yes, the next movie has been confirmed to be Silver Chair). However, Greensleeves would make an awesome “fake-title or “working-title”. And if the filmmakers want to use it, they can!
A special thanks to ArvinJan Pevensie for suggesting this one! Fun fact, we thought of announcing the name for the Lady of the Green Kirtle, but with so many of us submitting suggestions, I had the feeling it would be heartbreaking to choose a name someone suggested and then have it be false. Nothing is worse then feeling like you won, only to lose.
- While many documents were leaked in the Sony hack there was NOTHING in them about the Tolkien&Lewis movie. I just used a semi-current vent as my framework. NONE of the script changes have been suggested and to the best of my knowledge NONE of the actors I listed are being considered for the roles. No actors were harmed in the making of this joke, nor did they end up trending on Facebook, Twitter, MSN, or Yahoo.
So, that’s it guys .Thanks for playing along! And remember, please feel free to send in your joke suggestions next year! We love hearing from our fans, and this site belongs to all of us. Just send us a joke idea via our mailbag and we will put it into a story while we wait.
Were the LWW and PC working titles real?
They were! They weren’t really going to use them for release, it was more to as I said in the story, throw off the press.
It is difficult to create news pranks when you don’t have much real news to go off of. I know when VDT was coming out, those were really good pranks. I hope we get some real news soon. I enjoyed the pranks this year, but I really wished they were real especially the Silver Chair one.
granted there hasn’t been any movie news, but there has been Narnia action…there was little known, but very significant auction that happened last October in which for the first time, significant Narnia pieces were sold to the public. Included were the gifts to the children from Father Christmas, much of the costuming, Dawn Treader Ship Wheel, the flooding painting from Eustace’s Room, and Tumnus’ flute. Many great pieces have ended up in our traveling exhibit ministry that is also new on the Narnia scene. Fans can now rent out a fabulous display of Narnia memorabilia or have a live message and show presented for their special event! check out livinglikelucy.com
