The prairies are taking on tinsletown in the battle for Narnia. With the impending release of Hollywood’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, Rosebud Theatre is taking on the challenge of presenting their version for the stage without CGI or THX sound.
The theatre has cast two actors to portray thousands of characters from the novel.
Karl Sine and Cari Russell are putting every acting skill they have to work to make C.S. Lewis’ novel come to life on the Rosebud Theatre stage, which opens Nov. 4.
According to Sine, he must exact every ounce of his being to tap into the characters of Peter, Aslan the Lion, Edmund, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and a whole host of others.
“Sometimes, I don’t know if I am coming or going,” he says. “I have to rely on so many different tools, skills and physicalization to make it happen. This process has been as difficult as any job I have ever had, but most enjoyable.”
